2023.06.10 13:50 Mysterious_Bath Firestorm Booking - Rebooking Kenta in ROH
KENTA is underrated. That's it.
Final Battle 2005: - KENTA (c) vs Low Ki for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship
KENTA's first appearance for ROH comes at the end of 2005 at one of their flagship shows, Final Battle. Now, nothing much is different from here to what happened in real life, with KENTA having a great match against one of ROH's best in Low Ki. The match would go on for 21 minutes, with KENTA knocking out Low Ki's chances of winning the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship, hitting him with a GTS to secure the pinfall and retaining his title. Result: KENTA (c) def. Low Ki by pinfall to retain the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship (21:06) Dissention 2006: - KENTA (c) vs ??? for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship
KENTA would make his unannounced ROH return at Dissention, just six days after his hellacious battle with tag partner Naomichi Marufuji. He would come out to ring after the main event between Danielson and Styles to much fanfare, with the crowd chanting his name. He would then announce an open challenge for anyone in ROH. This call would be answered by none other than THE FALLEN ANGEL, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!!! KENTA looks pleased with this challenge and shakes Daniels' hand before going to war. KENTA emerges on the front foot of the match, managing to ground Daniels with his technical skills before bringing him down with a Bridging Tiger Suplex that only got a 1 count. Daniels would gain momentum after this, and would stay in control for the next few minutes and even hitting a BME which KENTA managed to kick out of at 2. Daniels would keep on the offence but KENTA managed things around with a huge Busaiku Knee which only gave him a 2 count. KENTA would retain control for the rest of the match, bar one last gasp effort from Daniels who tried to sneak an Angel Wings on KENTA who already had it scouted and managed to reverse it into a Fireman's Carry before HITTING THE GTS! 1..2..3! KENTA RETAINS!! Result: KENTA (c) def. Christopher Daniels by pinfall to retain the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship (19:31) After the bout, KENTA's celebrations would prove to be short lived as RODERICK STRONG WOULD COME OUT AND CHALLENGE KENTA FOR THE GHC JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!! KENTA accepts this match as its made official for Arena Warfare. Arena Warfare 2006: - KENTA (c) vs Roderick Strong for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship
With the ROH fans fully embracing KENTA's presence in their company, he finds himself having to put down one of the biggest heels in the company. Strong comes to the ramp accompanied by his Generation Next teammates, but he decides he wants to do this on his own, wanting them to be fully prepared for their match later at CZW When 2 Worlds Collide. Strong manages to start the match off perfectly, gaining full control over KENTA and managing to weaken him down with his backbreakers. This overwheming offense to KENTA makes Strong feel a bit full of himself, and his cocky nature costs him the lead here as KENTA manages to reverse a Double Underhook Suplex, floating over and knocking Strong down with a Roundhouse Kick. KENTA would then begin to work on the head of Strong, dropping knees on it and planting him with a Fisherman's Buster for a 2. KENTA would continue to beat down Strong over the next few minutes before attempting a GTS which Strong manages to get out of and OUT OF NOWHERE HITS A SICK KICK!! 1..2..KICKOUT!!! WHERE DID STRONG PULL THAT ONE OUT OF?!! Strong and KENTA both end up out on the floor as the ref begins to count. Strong manages to make it to his feet before KENTA however, and uses this to his advantage as he begins chopping the chest off KENTA, leading him to the corner. Strong then places KENTA on the top rope and looks to hit A SUPERPLEX..STRONG ROLLS OVER INTO THE END OF HEARTACHE!!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! HOW DID KENTA KICK OUT?!! Strong is stunned as desperation begins to kick in. He calls for KENTA to get back to his feet, wanting to end the match as soon as he can. KENTA eventually does make it back to his feet as Strong goes for an OLYMPIC SLAM BUT KENTA THROWS HIM OVERBOARD!! Strong gets back to his feet and runs at KENTA WHO PICKS STRONG UP ON HIS SHOULDERS...GTS!! 1..2..3!! WHAT A BATTLE!! Result: KENTA (c) def. Roderick Strong by pinfall to retain the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship (27:45) Following this win, KENTA's celebrations would be interrupted again, this time by THE ROH WORLD CHAMPION BRYAN DANIELSON!! He tells KENTA that he's not a fan of exports taking his spotlight in main event matches when he's the one carrying the company on his back as their world champion. Danielson tells Kenta that if he wants to steal the show and be a main event star in ROH, he needs to run past him. KENTA then CHALLENGES DANIELSON FOR THE ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!! Danielson smirks at this as the fans begin chanting KENTA's name. Danielson's smirk quickly turns into a laugh, telling KENTA he hasn't done anything special enough to gain a title match. KENTA says he doesn't care, he wants a match. Danielson gives in and grants KENTA a match against him...AND SAMOA JOE?!! Joe comes to the ring and stands at Danielson's side. He appears to agree with what Danielson said and tells KENTA to stay in NOAH. KENTA says no to Joe's request and instead challenges both men to a tag team match at Best in the World and if he wins, he gets a ROH World Title match. Danielson is confused and tells KENTA's that he's got no-one to tag with, so how is he gonna beat him and Joe. KENTA tells him to just watch, as he leaves the ring, leaving the question as to who his tag partner is gonna be. Best in the World 2006: - KENTA and ??? vs Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe (If Kenta wins, he gets a ROH World Title match
Danielson and Joe make their way to the ring first, followed by KENTA who is on his own. Danielson and Joe are both confused, with Danielson asking where his teammate is. KENTA tells him to wait as the music hits... ITS NAOMICHI MARUFUJI!!! HES HERE IN ROH!! Danielson and Joe both look shocked as they know an all out war is going to go down with two of NOAH's best coming up against two of ROH's best. Nothing changes in this match compared to real life, with the match lasting just over 30 minutes and the team of KENTA and Marufuji taking the win here as KENTA hits Danielson with a GTS to gain a pinfall over the ROH World Champion, putting the odds in his favour for their confirmed upcoming bout, which will take place in 3 days at Supercard of Honor. Result: KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji def. Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe (33:26) Supercard of Honor 2006: - KENTA vs Bryan Danielson (c) for the ROH World Championship
Coming into the match as the favourite here, KENTA finds himself in the biggest match of his career here as he has the opportunity to end the reign of Bryan Danielson here. Danielson is insistent on beating KENTA here, hitting him with stiff attacks that eventually lead to him getting busted open in the first few minutes. KENTA quickly realises that the Danielson he faced a few nights prior is not the same Danielson he's in the ring with now as the harsh offence continues. KENTA tries to take a breather on the outside but Danielson won't give him a moment of space, diving onto KENTA with a suicide dive as the champ is on fire. Danielson continues the offence on the outside, smashing KENTA's head into the ring post multiple times which only causes him to bleed more. The ref makes it to a count of 8 as Danielson decides to chuck him back in the ring for more punishment. KENTA tries crawling over to the other side as Danielson makes a fool out of him, pointing to him and laughing as Kenta struggles to get back to his feet. He eventually does as Danielson grabs him and starts hitting him with European Uppercuts. Danielson then throws KENTA into the ropes where he just goes over. Danielson almost looks embarrassed to be facing Kenta and mocks him as he exits the ring again. This time however, KENTA was playing possum and as Danielson went to attack KENTA, he got a fist full of ring post. Danielson tries shaking this off as KENTA gets revenge for earlier, smashing Danielson's skull into the same ring post, causing him to bleed. Danielson stumbles around the outside before rolling himself back in the ring as the ref's count gets closer and closer to 10. Kenta now has the upper hand over Danielson as he begins to hit him with kicks to any part of Danielson that's in his way. Danielson finds himself at the corner where KENTA doesn't stop, hitting Danielson with kicks to the chest. Danielson manages to catch KENTA's leg as he FLIPS HIM OVER INTO AN ANKLE LOCK!! KENTA tries escaping it but Danielson has it locked in tight. He does eventually manage to roll himself over, causing Danielson to go flying over into the 2nd rope. KENTA sees this and begins choking Danielson out, with the ref having to push KENTA out of the way. Danielson drops off the ropes, cluching his throat but KENTA doesn't care as he starts dropping knees onto Danielson's face. Danielson scurries under the bottom ropes as the tables have clearly turned. KENTA sees Danielson getting back to his feet and decides to do what any normal human would do and DIVE OVER THE TOP ROPE!! KENTA looks more than fired up here as he tosses a dazed Danielson back in the ring. It appears this match is coming to a close as KENTA picks Danielson up on his shoulders FOR A GTS..BUT DANIELSON ESCAPES AND HITS A REGAL-PLEX!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! Danielson looks at KENTA with a surprised look on his face, which quickly turns to delight as he realises he can inflict more damage. Danielson grabs the hands of KENTA, looking to pull him up, but quickly starts stomping down on his head. KENTA looks completely dazed by now as it appears one more big hit will put him out of commission. Danielson decides that enough is enough and attempts to lock in the Cattle Mutilation but KENTA DOESN'T ALLOW IT!! KENTA fights against Danielson's attempts and manages to get back to his feet before delivering an Arm Drag to Danielson. Danielson gets back to his feet and runs to KENTA who stops him dead in his tracks, picking him up FOR A BUCKLE BOMB!! Danielson bounces off the turnbuckle as KENTA runs the ropes.. BUSAIKU KNEE!! 1..2..KICKOUT!!! HOW ON EARTH?!! KENTA just sits in the ring, staring into nothingness with a look of disbelief at Danielson kicking out. KENTA starts getting mad and begins stomping the head of Danielson who is defenseless. KENTA then slowly picks Danielson up, with the intention of hitting a Falcon's Arrow, but Danielson manages to float over, hitting KENTA with a neckbreaker. Danielson stumbles back to his feet as KENTA finds his whereabouts again, with Danielson picking KENTA up on his shoulders and hitting him with a Rolling Fireman's Carry Slam. Danielson then launches at a seated KENTA with a huge dropkick that knocks him down. Danielson is feeling fired up at this point as HE LOCKS IN THE TRIANGLE CHOKE!! KENTA HAS NOWHERE TO GO!! DANIELSON ONLY MAKES IT WORSE WITH ELBOWS TO THE HEAD!! KENTA tries fighting out of it but Danielson has it locked in tight. WAIT..KENTA'S FADING!! The ref checks on him as he raises him arm up once. Nothing. Twice. Nothing. A third time...KENTA RESPONDS!! HE'S STILL IN THIS!! KENTA starts gaining elevation over Danielson as HE PICKS HIM UP ON HIS SHOULDERS...SITOUT POWERBOMB!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! WHAT'S IT GONNA TAKE FOR ONE OF THESE MEN TO STAY DOWN?!! Both men are grounded due to fatigue as the ref is forced to count. He makes it up to 6 with no response from either men. By the time he gets to 8, they find themselves pulling themselves up with the assistance of the ring ropes. They both make it to their feet before the 10 count as they stumble into each other in the middle of the ring. Danielson lands the first strike which causes KENTA to stumble but he returns the favour with a strike of his own. They continue doing this as Danielson gets booed with every strike and KENTA cheered with his. KENTA does get the upper hand here as he manages to get a powerful Roundhouse Kick on Danielson which knocks him into the ropes BUT DANIELSON RESPONDS WITH A BUSAIKU KNEE!!! HE STOLE KENTA'S MOVE!! BUT WAIT...KENTA ROLLS OVER!! HOW THE FUCK?!! HE PICKS UP DANIELSON...GTS!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! THIS IS NEVER GONNA END!! At this point, blood has stained the mat and the faces of both men, providing a mask to hide how they feel about this relentless brutality. KENTA is practically delirious as he somehow manages to make it to his feet. He calls for Danielson to get up as he looks to end this once and for all. He stands in the corner waiting, looking to hit that Busaiku Knee but Danielson doesn't move. KENTA is then forced to make his way over to Danielson to get him back to his feet BUT DANIELSON WAS PLAYING POSSUM THE WHOLE TIME AS HE LOCKS KENTA IN THE TRIANGLE CHOKE AGAIN!! DANIELSON WON'T STOP WITH THE ELBOWS AS THE REF IS FORCED TO CALL THE MATCH!! Result: Bryan Danielson (c) def. KENTA by technical submission to retain the ROH World Championship (48:57) Following the bout, Danielson would help KENTA back to his feet. He would then offer his hand out as a sign of respect and although hesistant at first, KENTA would shake it and raise Danielson's hand. KENTA would then return to Japan after this, defending his GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship throughout the summer, before losing it to Takashi Sugiura at Northern Navigation. He would continue in Japan for a few more months before making his return to ROH at International Challenge. International Challenge 2006: - KENTA and Bryan Danielson vs Homicide and Nigel McGuinness
After his rivalry with McGuinness over the summer, Danielson's next rival would come in the form of Homicide. After beating him once at Motor City Madness, he looked to be finished with Danielson. That is until Dethroned, where after successfully retaining his title against Austin Aries, Danielson would be attacked by Homicide, who demanded a rematch. Danielson wasn't willing to give him the rematch however, leading to Homicide taking matters into his own hands and calling in backup in the form of McGuinness. Danielson would eventually accept a tag match between the two, promising a big surprise for his partner. At the event, KENTA would be revealed as Danielson's tag partner to a massive fan eruption. The two would prove to be great tag partners as over the span of 19 minutes, the two would put the beatdown on their opponents. KENTA would be the one to gain the win for the team, hitting McGuinness with a GTS. Result: KENTA and Bryan Danielson def. Homicide and Nigel McGuinness by pinfall (19:34) Following this win, Danielson would get on the mic and announce he doesn't have an opponent for Final Battle, so tells Homicide he can have his rematch. As for KENTA, he puts his sights on McGuinness, asking him for a match at Final Battle. McGuinness says he wants fresh meat and accepts KENTA's challenge, with a warning he won't come out of the match the same man. Final Battle 2006: - KENTA vs Nigel McGuinness
KENTA's immense popularity in ROH is voiced by the ROH fans as the Manhattan Center blows the roof off the building when he appears. McGuinness feeds into the crowd, disgracing them for cheering for an outsider rather than a man who's been there the past 2 years, wrestling at every show, hell, even being the greatest Pure Champion in history. The match doesn't have a definitive leader throughout, with both men not letting the other get the satisfaction of beating their opponent. McGuinness did appear to be on the upper hand however for a slight bit, but a Busaiku Knee changed the whole thing for him, despite getting the kickout at 2. KENTA would lead from this point on, with a GTS looking immanent, BUT MCGUINNESS MANAGES TO HIT A REBOUND LARIAT!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! McGuiness is furious as he drags KENTA's lifeless body to the corner. He prompts him up on the top turnbuckle, with the intention of a TOWER OF LONDON BUT KENTA FLIPS OVER MCGUINNESS AND PICKS HIM UP...GTS!! 1..2..3!! Result: KENTA def. Nigel McGuinness by pinfall (29:08) KENTA would make his presence felt in the main event, stopping Hernandez from interfering on behalf of Homicide. He would then remain firm in the corner of Danielson but it's not enough AS HOMICIDE ENDS DANIELSON'S 462 DAY TITLE REIGN!! WHAT A MOMENT IN ROH HERE!! Following this shocking loss, KENTA consoles Danielson, helping up and telling him it'll be okay. Danielson gets a standing ovation from the ROH crowd as KENTA begins to exit the ring to let Danielson have his moment but Danielson pulls him back in, wanting to celebrate with him. OR SO KENTA THOUGHT AS DANIELSON LOCKS HIM IN THE TRIANGLE CHOKE!!! Danielson starts screaming, saying its KENTA's fault he lost and it's nothing to do with him. Danielson lets go of the hold and goes to the outside, to under the ring, where he pulls out a steel chair. He then gets in the ring and places it ON KENTA'S LEG!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING DANIELSON?! Danielson stands on the second rope AND STOMPS DOWN ON THE CHAIR!! KENTA'S LEG IS DONE!! KENTA screams in pain as Danielson leaves him in the ring, embracing this newfound attitude. KENTA would go out injured for 2 months, while Danielson's new vicious character would dominate ROH. KENTA's return would come at the Fifth Year Festival: NYC, after Danielson's victory over Takeshi Morishima. KENTA would attack Danielson, hitting him with a GTS before demanding a match, which is made official for the Fifth Year Festival in Chicago. Fifth Year Festival: Chicago: - KENTA vs Bryan Danielson II
A match which, despite having less stakes than last time round, will guarantee to be an all time classic. Danielson's newfound heel persona and KENTA's popularity among the fans mix well as Danielson's heel heat is like no other, with the fans' boos louder than his entrance music. The crowd can also be heard chanting "FUCK YOU DANIELSON", over and over as Danielson gives them the Stone Cold treatment. The match is an absolute war, lasting almost 50 minutes with Danielson managing to kick out of 3 GTS's and KENTA managing to last over 2 minutes in the Triangle Choke. These men throw absolutely everything at each other, with submission, kicks, punches, chops and everything inbetween but it would be the fourth GTS that would put Danielson down for good. Result: KENTA def. Bryan Danielson by pinfall (49:32) Following this, KENTA would ask anyone to give him a match at All Star Extravaganza III which would be answered by Chris Hero. All Star Extravaganza III: KENTA's climb to the top continues here as he finds himself facing one of the biggest rising stars in ROH. Hero would put up a good fight for one of the biggest stars in ROH here but it wouldn't be enough as a Busaiku Knee and GTS would be what ends the match, giving KENTA another win in his quest to the top. Result: KENTA def. Chris Hero by pinfall (14:37) KENTA isn't able to celebrate this victory however, as DANIELSON WOULD ATTACK HIM FROM BEHIND! Danielson would begin stomping on KENTA's head before announcing he wants one more match, FIGHT WITHOUT HONOR TOMORROW AT SUPERCARD OF HONOR!! KENTA is unable to respond as Danielson doesn't allow him but it's safe to say the match is official. Supercard of Honor 2007: - KENTA vs Bryan Danielson III in a Fight Without Honor Match
One year ago, these two men stood in the ring of the main event of Supercard of Honor with the biggest prize in the company on the line. Now, its a year later, a lot has changed, but what hasn't is the fact that both men find each other facing each other again in the main event of Supercard of Honor and despite there being no title on the line, the match feels more important than last year's. Under the stipulation of Fight Without Honor, both men absolutely tear at each other for 1 HOUR AND 6 MINUTES!! Whether it was Danielson stealing the Busaiku Knee TWICE, or KENTA hitting 3 GTS's in a row and Danielson kicking out, the Detroit crowd were absolutely fucking fed. Weapons also played a big part in this match, with Danielson smashing a steel chair over KENTA's head 10 times, causing him to be busted open, BUT KENTA RESPONDED WITH A BUSAIKU KNEE!! However, after one hour and six minutes, Danielson would lock in the Triangle Choke in the centre of the ring, with it looking like KENTA was going to pass out. HE DIDN'T HOWEVER, AND MANAGED TO POWER HIS WAY UP, PLACING DANIELSON ON HIS SHOULDERS FOR A 4TH GTS!! 1..2..3!! KENTA ENDS THE RIVALRY AND THE MATCH WITH A MASSIVE WIN!! Result: KENTA def. Bryan Danielson by pinfall (1:06:44) KENTA would make a brief return to Japan, before returning at Live in Osaka to announce his entry in the Race to the Top Tournament. Race to the Top Tournament Night 1: - KENTA vs Matt Sydal in a Round of 16 match
KENTA finds himself getting one of the worst draws possible in the tournament as he faces the previous favourite to win the tournament, Matt Sydal. Clearly the best match in the Round of 16, KENTA finds himself struggling in the beginning but gains control, carrying it throughout before sealing the win with a GTS, gaining his spot in the quarter finals. Result: KENTA def. Matt Sydal by pinfall to advance to the quarter finals (12:10) Race to the Top Tournament Night 2: - KENTA vs Jack Evans in a Quarter Final match
Into the quarter finals we go, as KENTA finds himself facing Sydal's former teammate in Generation Next, Jack Evans. Evans manages to put up a hell of a fight in this match, even coming close to winning after hitting Kenta with a 630 Senton, but KENTA somehow managed to kick out at 2. In the end, it would be that dreaded GTS that would finish the match off, with KENTA pinning Evans for the 3 to make it to the semis. Result: KENTA def. Jack Evans by pinfall to advance to the semi-finals (18:22)
- KENTA vs Davey Richards in a Semi Final match
The second match of KENTA's night comes in the form of Davey Richards, who has been on a warpath as of late alongside Roderick Strong as No Remorse Cops. Richards steamrolls through KENTA in the opening minutes of the match, with a spot in the final looking dead set for him. This would change midway through the match as KENTA would use Richards' aggression against him, allowing him to control the rest of the match before finishing it off with the GTS, MEANING KENTA'S GOING TO THE FINAL!! Result: KENTA def. Davey Richards by pinfall to advance to the finals (15:43)
- KENTA vs Claudio Castagnoli in the Race to the Top Tournament Final
After already wrestling for half an hour, KENTA shows no signs of fatigue here as he is willing to lay it all on the line for a shot at Morishima's ROH World Championship. Castagnoli found a tough way to the final, having to make his way through El Generico, Kevin Steen and Mike Quackenbush. Castagnoli and KENTA provide a spectacle for the audience over the span of 28 minutes with a technical masterclass. Near falls appeared throughout the match, with the most significant being KENTA kicking out of Castagnoli's Ricola Bomb. To finish the match, Castagnoli looked set to finish the match of after a flurry of European Uppercuts. Castagnoli would then find himself waiting in the corner for KENTA to get back to his feet. He eventually does and throws KENTA up in the air for a SWISS DEATH BUT KENTA HITS CASTAGNOLI WITH A BUSAIKU KNEE!! Castagnoli stumbles back into the ropes and bounces right onto KENTA's shoulders for THE GTS!! 1..2..3!! KENTA'S GOT A ROH WORLD TITLE MATCH!! Result: KENTA def. KENTA's rise to the top finds itself culminating here in the main event of Death Before Dishonor against fellow countryman Takeshi Morishima. Morishima is able to use his size to his advantage, overpowering KENTA in every way, displaying why he is a great champion. KENTA tries getting some offence in, kicking the champ's knees down to weaken him but this proves useless as Morishima delivers a knee to the gut which grounds KENTA. KENTA makes his way back up after this where he gets bombarded by chops from Morishima which causes him to back up into the ropes. KENTA tries to take a breather but finds himself getting tossed out of the ring by Morishima. KENTA regains his balance outside the ring as MORISHIMA COMES OUT WITH A SUICIDE DIVE!!! WHAT THE FUCK?!! Morishima then tosses KENTA back in the ring and begins to unload kicks into his back, causing KENTA to squirm into the corner. Morishima begins taunting at the booing crowd to rile them up even more as KENTA makes it back to his feet AS MORISHIMA DOES A CARTWHEEL INTO A HIP ATTACK!! KENTA is squashed as he falls forward into Morishima who picks him up for a uranage, only getting a 2 count. Morishima argues with the ref, calling it a 3 count but the ref confirms it was a 2. Albright would launch at KENTA with punches but he no-sells them and begins beating down Albright. This newfound aggressive style of wrestling bodes well with the fans, who cheer for KENTA and his stiff strikes. The battle of the capital letter names next, CIMA would prove to be the toughest fight yet for KENTA, due to his high flying ability and technical prowess which managed to keep KENTA down for a bit. CIMA would even find himself hitting both the Meteora and Crossfire but KENTA would kick out of both at 2. After 12 minutes though, it would be the GTS that would end the bout, with KENTA blasting CIMA's head off to retain the gold. Result: KENTA (c) def. CIMA by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship (12:18) Following this, KENTA would call the ROH locker room boring and said if he didn't get a worthy opponent, he'd take the title back to Japan. This would prompt Jimmy Jacobs to come out, calling his shot for the title at Honor Nation. Honor Nation 2007: - KENTA (c) vs Jimmy Jacobs for the ROH World Championship
Double J (not Slapnuts) finds himself the next potential victim to KENTA's recent terrorisation of the ROH roster. Despite this aggressive nature that KENTA carries around with himself now, he still finds himself being cheered by the ROH crowd, although its not as big as at the start of the year leading up to his title win. KENTA allows Jacobs to hit him with some offence due to his boredom against his most recent opponents. Jacobs uses this to his advantage, taking control of the bout but it doesn't last long. Jacobs sends KENTA out of the ring, with the hopes of a suicide dive, but he fails and gets caught in the ropes. KENTA is displeased with this and starts getting mad at Jacobs, slapping him in the face and kicking him in the gut. KENTA starts laying into Jacobs with stronger offence, including a massive Powerbomb for a 2 count. Kenta starts getting bored of Jacobs and decides to finish it off with a GTS, gaining the 3 count and continuing his reign of dominance over ROH. Result: KENTA (c) def. Jimmy Jacobs by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship (13:26) Following this win, KENTA takes the ROH World Championship over to Japan, defending it in NOAH against the likes of Bobby Fish, Ricky Marvin and even a rematch against Takeshi Morishima. Following his victory over Morishima, KENTA would challenge THE GHC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION MITSUHARU MISAWA TO A TITLE VS TITLE MATCH!! Misawa would accept this match, but he doesn't want the match in Japan. HE WANTS IT AT GLORY BY HONOR!! The match would be made official but it did leave confusion for the winner of the Survival of the Fittest, Chris Hero. It would then be decided that KENTA vs Hero would happen on Night 1, while Misawa vs KENTA would happen on Night 2. Glory by Honor Night 1: - KENTA (c) vs Chris Hero II for the ROH World Championship
Before KENTA can get to the match of his wishes, he first has to get past the winner of the 2007 Survival of the Fittest, Chris Hero. Hero has been on a tear recently, with the fans firmly getting behind him being the next ROH World Champion, even at the expense of KENTA. The fans are beginning to sour on KENTA at this point, with the cheers once received seeming like a myth at this point. KENTA notices these cheers for Hero and starts beating the shit out of him, grounding him in the corner before pointing at him, almost as if to berate the fans for thinking that Hero is the guy and not KENTA. KENTA would continue with these beatings on Hero, garnering boos from the crowd. KENTA then flips off the crowd, confirming his heel turn as he just won't stop beating Hero up. KENTA would then pick Hero up, looking for a Falcon's Arrow, but Hero would manage to float over KENTA and hit a big neckbreaker to give him control of the match. Hero would continue with this offence for a while, with KENTA unable to get a breakthrough in the match. Hero would even manage to hit the Rolling Elbow but it only gave him a 2 count. Hero wouldn't let go of control following this, managing to score more 2 counts with a Cradle Piledriver and a Hero's Welcome. At the end of the match, KENTA did manage to gain a bit of a comeuppance, even managing to hit a Fisherman's Buster which only got a 2 count. The finish however, would come with Hero in the corner, the fans cheering his name looking to hit the CYCLONE KILL..BUT KENTA DUCKS UNDER AND RUNS TO THE TURNBUCKLE!! HERO TURNS AROUND AND MEETS A BUSAIKU KNEE!! The fans cheers quickly become somber boos as KENTA picks Hero up FOR THE GTS!! 1..2..3!! KENTA RETAINS!! IT'S GONNA BE TITLE VS TITLE TOMORROW NIGHT!! Result: KENTA (c) def. Chris Hero by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship (19:27) Glory by Honor Night 2: - KENTA (c) vs Mitsuharu Misawa (c) for the ROH World Championship and the GHC Heavyweight Championship
To end off Night 2, we have two of Japan's best with the icon Misawa, who's title reign is bordering a year, and the current ROH World Champion KENTA who's been on an absolute tear recently, dominating his opponents. The match is borderline similar to the match they actually had bar a few changes. At the end of the match however, Misawa has KENTA right where he wants him as he looks for the EMERALD FLOSION...KENTA ESCAPES THOUGH...HE BOUNCES OFF THE ROPES AND HITS A BUSAIKU KNEE!! MISAWA IS KNOCKED DOWN AS KENTA BRINGS HIM BACK TO HIS FEET...GTS!!! 1..2..3!! KENTA IS A DOUBLE CHAMPION!! KENTA HAS ENDED MISAWA'S REIGN!! THE FANS ARE PISSED!! Result: KENTA (c) def. Mitsuharu Misawa (c) to retain the ROH World Championship and win the GHC Heavyweight Championship KENTA then announces himself as the best wrestler in the world and plans to take the ROH title to Japan at the end of the year and never return with it. He also mentions the fact he's never been pinned or submitted in ROH, with his only loss coming at a technicality. He then says there isn't a single man in ROH that can beat him for the title. And then the music hits...ITS SAMOA JOE!! HE'S BACK IN ROH!! Joe comes to the ring to a massive cheer, with the belief that he had left ROH permanently to go to TNA. Joe says KENTA is right and that there isn't a man in ROH that can beat him, BECAUSE IT'LL BE A TNA GUY INSTEAD!! Joe challenges KENTA to a match at Reckless Abandon to see who the real best in the world is. In the meantime, KENTA would return to Japan to defend his newly won GHC Heavyweight Championship, beating Misawa in a rematch and stopping Jun Akiyama from avenging the loss, beating him in a 45 minute classic. Reckless Abandon 2007: - KENTA (c) vs Samoa Joe for the ROH World Championship
Definitely KENTA's biggest challenge yet, the greatest ROH World Champion ever returns home in an attempt to save the biggest prize in the company by taking it off the hands of KENTA, who's intentions to leave ROH at the end of the year with the World Championship are clear. Joe gets the advantage in the beginning, chopping the chest off KENTA and sticking some stiff hits to his skull. KENTA would turn the tides on Joe, hitting some stiff attacks himself, before grounding him with a Fisherman's Buster. The two would continue on with an evenly matched brutal showcase, exchanging control every few minutes while also hitting some big moves, including a Muscle Buster from Joe which KENTA managed to kick out of at 2. To end the match after 36 minutes, KENTA would find himself in a perfect situation after reversing a Uranage from Joe. Joe would become mad following this and run at KENTA who ducked under and ran the ropes himself before HITTING THE BUSAIKU KNEE!!! 1..2..3!! THE REIGN CONTINUES!!! Result: KENTA (c) def. Samoa Joe by pinfall to retain the ROH World Championship (36:54) KENTA then says the clock is ticking for someone to beat him, and if not, he's taking the ROH World Championship home. He asks for anyone to come out and challenge him for a match at Final Battle, and if not? Well, you know what'll happen. Kenta waits and waits, but gets no response. Just as he's about to call it quits though, NIGEL MCGUINNESS APPEARS!! HE'S NEXT FOR KENTA'S TITLE!! KENTA smirks as he knows a guy like McGuinness isn't gonna beat him for the title. Final Battle 2007: - KENTA (c) vs Nigel McGuinness II for the ROH World Championship
History finds itself repeating once again, as KENTA and McGuinness come face to face at Final Battle for the second successive year. Last time around, KENTA was one of the most loved stars in ROH, but now? He's public enemy number one. And if McGuinness doesn't win the title, they can kiss the title goodbye. McGuinness and KENTA lock up to begin the bout, with KENTA getting a headlock on McGuinness before performing a headlock takedown. McGuinness laughs as he gets back up, with KENTA laughing too. KENTA then pushes McGuinness which causes him to start unloading on him with strikes, causing him to back up into the corner. KENTA would then put his body through the ropes, preventing McGuinness from hitting him while taunting him to try and trigger a reaction. McGuinness does nothing however and waits for KENTA to get out of the ropes to continue his attacks. KENTA is sneaky about it though and as he gets back in, he ducks under McGuinness' attack and starts kicking the legs of McGuinness before delivering a Roundhouse Kick to the head, knocking McGuinness down for a 1 count. Kenta would return to the head again, keeping McGuinness in a headlock to prevent him getting back to his feet. This only works for so long as McGuinness manages to get back to his feet, tossing KENTA overboard. KENTA would then get back to his feet and charge at McGuinness who throws him around with arm drags before slamming him down with a Powerslam. McGuinness gets fired up as KENTA is on the downside here, with the fans cheering for McGuinness. McGuinness would then go the corner as KENTA gets back to his feet, which is when McGuiness goes for the JAWBREAKER LARIAT BUT KENTA DODGES!! McGuinness turns around AND GETS HIT WITH A BUSAIKU KNEE!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! A huge sigh of relief comes from the ROH fans as the title is safe. For now. KENTA is frustrated with this and begins to drop knees onto the head of McGuinness. This prompts McGuinness to sit up which allows KENTA to hit a stiff kick to the back. McGuinness rolls in pain and decides to take a breather by leaving the ring. KENTA laughs at McGuinness for this as he exits around the other side of the ring and runs around to meet McGuinness WHO HITS HIM WITH A RUNNING LARIAT!! McGuinness then picks up KENTA and throws him back in the ring where he covers him for a 2 count. McGuinness starts punching the head of KENTA which he is unable to block, causing him to be busted open. McGuinness stops to take a look at what he's done and has a grin on his face, with the fans chanting for him to not stop. McGuinness listens to them and brings KENTA to the corner where he starts laying into him with hits. He then places KENTA on the top turnbuckle and runs to the opposite corner before running back WITH A HUGE LARIAT!! KENTA slumps over as McGuinness sees his shot AND HITS THE TOWER OF LONDON!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! MCGUINNESS CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! The fans call out the ref, saying it should have been a 3 count, purely to take the title off KENTA. McGuinness then begins taunting to the crowd again in the corner as he calls for KENTA to get back to his feet. KENTA does eventually get back up as McGuinness tries again for the JAWBREAKER LARIAT BUT DOESN'T HIT IT AGAIN!! KENTA THROWS A BIG BOOT IN THE FACE OF MCGUINNESS WHICH ROCKS HIM!! KENTA then picks McGuinness up on his shoulders for a GTS BUT MCGUINNESS LANDS ON HIS FEET AND HITS KENTA WITH A CHOP TO THE THROAT!! KENTA clutches his throat as he backs up. McGuinness follows as KENTA hits him with another kick which causes him to bounce back into the ropes and hit KENTA with a lariat. KENTA doesn't go down with this, instead rocking back and hitting McGuinness with a simple slap. McGuinness gets pissed off as this and GOES FOR THE JAWBREAKER LARIAT AGAIN BUT KENTA DUCKS AGAIN AND HITS A QUICK SNAP GERMAN SUPLEX!! McGuinness rolls back as KENTA kicks him in the gut and picks him up on his shoulders for a BUCKLE BOMB!! MCGUINNESS BOUNCES OFF THE TURNBUCKLE AND ONTO THE SHOULDERS OF KENTA FOR A GTS!!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! KENTA is starting to get pissed off at McGuinness and LOCKS HIM IN THE STFU!! McGuinness crawls around trying to find an escape but he's trapped in the middle of the ring. KENTA keeps applying pressure but McGuinness is able to get his hand up and begins punching the head of KENTA again. KENTA is forced to release as he backs up to take a quick breather. When he turns around however, MCGUINNESS MEETS HIM WITH A JAWBREAKER LARIAT!!! 1..2..KICKOUT!! WHY WON'T KENTA STAY DOWN?!! McGuinness doesn't even wait for a second after the kickout, instead going straight to the LONDON DUNGEON!! KENTA HAS NOWHERE TO GO!! KENTA begins crawling BUT MCGUINNESS PULLS HIM RIGHT BACK TO THE CENTRE!! Over a minute goes by and KENTA is still in the submission, battered and bloodied in this war as he looks to be fading. That is until he gets one last burst of energy to scrape his way to the ropes, keeping himself in the match. McGuinness is done with this match though, and lines KENTA up for ANOTHER JAWBREAKER LARIAT!! HE'S NOT DONE AS HE PICKS KENTA UP..AND ANOTHER JAWBREAKER LARIAT!! McGuinness takes one more look at KENTA as he PICKS HIM UP AGAIN FOR A THIRD JAWBREAKER LARIAT!! 1..2..3!! NIGEL MCGUINNESS HAS PINNED KENTA!!! HE'S THE NEW ROH WORLD CHAMPION!!! Result: Nigel McGuinness def. KENTA (c) by pinfall to win the ROH World Championship (31:46) Epilogue: This would mark the end of KENTA's ROH run, as he would would return to NOAH and remain dominant as GHC Heavyweight Champion until September of 2008, when he would lose the belt to Kensuke Sasaki. This would not be his final appearance in ROH however, as he would wrestle 2 more matches for the company, one in a win against Danielson during his farewell tour and his final match against Tyler Black which ended as a loss, putting a full stop on the ROH career of KENTA. So, in the span of 2 years, KENTA went from the biggest babyface in ROH, before making his eventual rise to the top, winning the ROH Championship in a controversial fashion, which caused a new person to appear, a more ruthless and dominant man who threatened to take the title away from ROH to Japan, becoming the biggest heel in ROH in the process but luckily for ROH, on the last night of the year Captain McGuinness would come to the rescue and save the company and their main title, sending KENTA packing in the process.

Quotes
[After T.J Detweiler had pranked Darius Deamonne with electromagnets Anne Boonchuy slams T.J Detweiler against the wall and pins him and several jelly bean jars are dropped to the floor Willow Park just watches from the counter]
Anne Boonchuy: Are you froging kidding me?! Pulling a prank like that in my lobby? On a Coven Head of all the guests you had to choose?!
T.J Detweiler: Come on Anne? It was a good prank.
Anne Boonchuy: Really especially when it makes me and my parents’ hotel look bad! Man if your parents heard about this they would be just as mad as I am.
Ellie Detweiler (walks in): Not by a long shot, all T.J was doing is being a boy, I mean, ever heard the phrase, “boys will be boys”.
Anne Boonchuy: Really what about “what’s good for businesses”.
Ellie Detweiler: Come on Anne, so T.J made a mistake, I mean a talking to would have suffice but going Tony Soprano on him is a little excessive. just let it slide.
T.J Detweiler: Please. I mean I just made some friends here.
Anne Boonchuy: Alright fine I’ll let it slide.
[T.J Detweiler eyes at the candy]
Anne Boonchuy: Forget the froging jelly beans, go!
[T.J Detweiler walks off and Anne Boonchuy picks up all the jelly bean jars that fell on the floor and hands WIllow Park a cash stack
Anne Boonchuy: Keep the change and you saw and heard nothing.
Willow Park: Lips are sealed.
Pros: Would evoke the nostalgia of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody fans
Cons: Everything in “The Suite Life of T.J.” would be non-canon for the following shows; Amphibia, The Owl House, Hamster and Gretel, Phineas and Ferb, Milo Murphy’s Law The Ghost and Molly McGee, The 7D, Wander Over Yonder, Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, Kiff, Star Vs The Forces of Evil, Big City Greens, The 7D, Gravity Falls, DuckTales (2017), The 7D, Wander Over Yonder and Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil pretty much like Chibiverse, also there would have to be one art style for all characters.

2023.06.10 07:35 uiuiane St. Louis ribs and listening to Seal while vacuum sealing.
I mostly use my immersion circulator to scratch the barbecue itch or make deserts for potlucks and gatherings. Whenever ribs or pork shoulders go on sale I'll buy a couple butts or racks to prep and freeze. I'll dry brine, or add a rub, vacuum seal and freeze to use whenever! This has become a staple for weekend meals or summer get togethers.
Tonight I prepped a pork shoulder. Just Kosher salt and some trad bbq style rub. And two racks of St. Louis ribs. These got rubbed with kosher salt, ground ginger, garlic powder and a little cayenne pepper. I usually make a glaze/sauce for these by cooking down a bottle or two of ginger beer (I like Barret's) with some kefir lime leaves till reduced to a syrup. Then add in some fish sauce, lime, fresh garlic and ginger, green curry paste and whisk in some of the bag juices. If I happen to have some chilis or lemongrass on hand I'll throw some of those in too.
Anyway, I like to get everything prepped and then do a little marathon of sealing. Whenever I vacuum seal my bags I like to put on a little Seal to set the mood. I'll sing along to Seal's Grammy Award winning 1994 hit, Kiss from a Rose as featured on the Batman Forever soundtrack, while the the Nesco hums along. Think of it as people talking to their plants.
Does anyone else ever do this, and if so what of Seal's catalogue do you listen to while vacuum sealing? If you haven't you should try it!
P.S. As I'm typing this I realized I forgot to add liquid smoke to the bag. Dang!
P.P.S. For times and temps I basically just do the serious eats method for both of these meats. I've done both the pulled and sliceable texture on the butts and the meaty vs traditional bbq texture for the ribs. I like all of them, and go with whichever I'm feeling or what time allows.

2023.06.10 06:30 AuSSie-HellCat Week 4: Nov 2023 - GEW: Riot & Unleashed
| GEW: Riot Match 1 - Dolph Ziggler vs Ricky Starks Ziggler, known for his in-ring abilities and resilience, took control early on with a series of well-executed strikes and grapples. However, Starks, the charismatic and explosive athlete, fought back with his signature blend of athleticism and showmanship. As the match progressed, the intensity escalated, and the near falls kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Ziggler displayed his ability to withstand punishment and deliver devastating maneuvers, while Starks countered with his agility and innovative offense. In a pivotal moment, Starks seized an opportunity and delivered a thunderous spear, stunning Ziggler and setting up the pinfall victory Winner: Ricky Starks by Pinfall (3.5 Stars) https://preview.redd.it/c50dutgpb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=bbcc3e7b368a9856af7d5e3b2995c0f1d95ba2ee Interview Interviewer: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here with two members of The A-List Experience, LA Knight and The Miz, who have agreed to this sit-down interview to address their recent conflicts. Now, Miz, it seems you have something to propose to LA Knight. What is it? The Miz: [leaning forward, a serious expression on his face] That's right. Knight, we've had our fair share of disagreements and clashes recently. But I'm willing to put everything on the line to settle this once and for all. I'm proposing a ladder match at the next pay-per-view. LA Knight: [smirking] Oh, really? And what's at stake, Miz? Your pride? The Miz: [nodding] No, Knight. It's much more than that. If you accept, we'll put your contract on the line. If you win, you'll be out of The A-List Experience for good. LA Knight: [leaning back, contemplating the offer] Interesting. You're willing to risk losing me? The Miz: [firmly] That's right. I've seen enough, Knight. You're out for yourself, thinking only of personal gain. LA Knight: [smirking confidently] Fine, Miz. You're on. I accept your challenge. But don't think for a second that I won't come out on top. Interviewer: This is a huge announcement, folks! The Miz and LA Knight will settle their differences in a ladder match at the next pay-per-view, with LA Knight's contract on the line. Any final thoughts? The Miz: [looking directly at LA Knight] Knight, I hope you understand what's at stake here. This is about more than just winning a match. It's about loyalty, commitment, and proving who truly is the best. LA Knight: [smirking confidently] Miz, you can put my contract on the line, but you'll never be able to take away the star power that is LA Knight. I'll show you why I'm the future of this business. Match 2 - Bullet Club (JTG & The Gunns) vs American Alpha The action started with Gable and JTG showcasing their technical skills, engaging in a fast-paced grappling exchange. As the match progressed, The Creed Brothers utilized their power and strength advantage to overpower their opponents, delivering punishing strikes and devastating slams. However, JTG and The Gunns refused to back down, displaying their resilience and teamwork while they brutalized The Creed Brothers as Gable was barely conscious outside the ring from a devastating suplex off the apron by JTG. In a critical turning point, JTG seized an opening and connected with a lightning-fast superkick, staggering one of The Creed Brothers. Sensing the opportunity, The Gunns executed a synchronized double-team maneuver, flooring their opponents and securing the victory. Winner: Bullet Club by Pinfall (4 Stars) https://preview.redd.it/rjdy5klwb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=fdc13b51768f6d5153b61ecda6844b58659a9ddb Match 3 - Asuka, Kris Statlander, Liv Morgan, & Indi Hartwell vs Rhea Ripley, Shayna Baszler, Alba Faye & Jacy Jane The match kicked off with a flurry of high-flying maneuvers and hard-hitting strikes as both teams fought for dominance. Ripley and Baszler showcased their brutal aggression, unleashing devastating power moves on their opponents. However, Asuka and Statlander countered with their impressive agility and technical prowess, turning the tide in their favor. Liv Morgan displayed her resilience and quickness, evading the attacks of Alba Faye and delivering lightning-fast strikes. Indi Hartwell, on the other hand, used her strength to overpower Jacy Jane and keep the opposition on their toes. As the match approached its climax, a series of thrilling near falls and dramatic saves had the crowd on the edge of their seats. In the end, it was the cohesive teamwork and resilience of Asuka, Kris Statlander, Liv Morgan, and Indi Hartwell that proved superior. They capitalized on a moment of opportunity, delivering a devastating combination of moves to secure the victory. Winner: Asuka, Statlander, Morgan, & Hartwell by Pinfall (4.5 Stars) https://preview.redd.it/xpgog4gxb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=db2637e8ea9da2f65f59d3859415fbb9e6b6fd87 Match 4 - LA Knight vs Grayson Waller In a heated one-on-one encounter, LA Knight clashed with Grayson Waller in an intense battle of egos. From the opening bell, both competitors showcased their athleticism and aggression, determined to emerge victorious. LA Knight utilized his technical prowess and power to gain the upper hand, grounding Waller with a series of punishing holds and strikes. However, Waller refused to back down, countering with his hard-hitting moves and resilience. As the match progressed, the pendulum of momentum swung back and forth, with near falls and close calls keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. The competitive spirit between Knight and Waller intensified, escalating the physicality of the match. In a pivotal moment, LA Knight capitalized on an opening, delivering a devastating signature move that left Waller stunned and unable to kick out. The referee's hand hit the mat for the three-count, signaling the victory for LA Knight. Winner: LA Knight by Pinfall (4.5 Stars) https://preview.redd.it/48whly2yb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=8a81396f24cb3436410ee43253c2cdfdddbae8c0 Match 5 - Bianca Belair vs Jaime Hayter As the match unfolded, Belair unleashed an array of powerful strikes and impressive acrobatics, leaving Hayter reeling. The intensity escalated as the near falls and close calls kept the audience on the edge of their seats. In the final moments, Belair dug deep and summoned her incredible strength, hoisting Hayter onto her shoulders and delivering her signature K.O.D. (Kiss of Death) maneuver. The impact was enough to secure the three-count, sealing the victory for Bianca Belair. Winner: Bianca Belair by Pinfall (4 Stars) https://preview.redd.it/i14w7ajyb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=bff7acb8ec047e3588d965fb97336319c63c88fb Post-Match Segment [Bianca celebrates her hard-fought victory, raising her arms in triumph. However, her moment of glory is short-lived as the arena suddenly goes dark. The crowd's anticipation fills the air as they wonder what's about to unfold.] [A spotlight illuminates the entrance ramp, revealing Britt Baker, DMD, with a sinister smile on her face, wielding two kendo sticks.] Britt Baker: Oh, Bianca, you may have won this battle, but the war is far from over! [Britt Baker charges towards the ring, swinging the kendo sticks with brutal force, catching Bianca off guard. The blows rain down on Bianca's back, leaving visible welts and causing her to wince in pain.] Britt Baker: This is what happens when you try to step into my spotlight, Bianca! I am the rightful queen of this division, and I won't let anyone steal that from me! [As the crowd watches in shock, Britt Baker continues her assault, showing no mercy. Each strike echoes through the arena, heightening the tension. Finally, as Bianca collapses to the mat, Britt Baker stands tall, a sadistic grin on her face, with the kendo sticks raised in victory.] Britt Baker: This is the fate that awaits anyone foolish enough to challenge me, Bianca. Remember, I am the face of this division, and no one, not even you, can dethrone me! [Medical personnel rush to the ring to tend to Bianca's injuries as Britt Baker revels in her triumph, taunting the fallen Bianca and cementing her status as a ruthless force to be reckoned with.] [The segment ends with the image of Britt Baker standing tall, the ring littered with broken kendo sticks, and Bianca Belair left battered and broken, a clear message sent to anyone who dares to challenge the dominant reign of "The Role Model."] Match 6 - Blake Bailey, Adam Cole, Randy Orton & Malakai Black vs Bandido, Sami Zayn, Tyler Bate, & Ace Keeg As the bell rang to signal the start of the highly anticipated eight-man tag team match, tensions were already running high among the competitors. The teams of Blake Bailey, Adam Cole, Randy Orton & Malakai Black on one side, and Bandido, Sami Zayn, Tyler Bate, & Ace Keeg on the other, were set to clash in an explosive encounter. From the opening moments, it was clear that the animosity between the competitors was too great to be contained. Tempers flared and frustrations boiled over as the action escalated. It started with a heated exchange between Bandido and Orton, which quickly turned into a full-blown brawl. The chaos spread like wildfire, infecting every corner of the ring. Teammates found themselves at odds with each other as the fierce competitiveness took over. Cole and Zayn locked eyes, their long-standing rivalry reigniting with a vengeance. Meanwhile, Bailey and Bate exchanged stiff strikes, each determined to prove their dominance. Even the usually composed Black couldn't resist getting caught up in the whirlwind of chaos. He found himself exchanging blows with Keeg, neither willing to back down. The ringside area erupted with a chorus of boos and cheers as the competitors unleashed their frustrations on one another. Referees and officials desperately tried to restore order, but their efforts seemed futile as the brawl spilled to the outside. With no clear winner in sight and the match spiraling into utter chaos, the bell rang once again, signifying a no-contest. The officials, realizing the situation had become uncontrollable, decided to intervene and separate the warring factions. The crowd, though disappointed by the lack of a definitive outcome, couldn't deny the sheer intensity and unpredictability of the encounter. It was a brutal reminder that sometimes, rivalries and personal grudges can overpower even the strongest bonds of teamwork. As the dust settled and the competitors were forcibly separated, the message was clear: the animosity among these athletes ran deep. Whether it be for championships or personal pride, they were willing to go to any lengths to settle their scores. https://preview.redd.it/oy0h8eazb45b1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=51456701dfe642b25f9a9df3be5773e31bb2cdcb Recap Matches: - Match 1: Ricky Starks def. Both teams showcased their remarkable in-ring abilities, executing high-flying maneuvers, crisp strikes, and innovative double-team moves. The pace of the match was relentless, with neither team willing to back down. As the match reached its climax, Motor City Machine Guns managed to outmaneuver Aussie Open, capitalizing on a momentary miscommunication between the Australian duo. Right from the start, Strickland displayed his superior agility, speed, and technique, leaving Corbin struggling to keep up. 2023.06.10 06:23 madmag23 Major League Soccer USA
SUNDAY 11 JUNE 2023 (GMT +7)
Atlanta United vs DC United
9th in the league and unbeaten in their last five league games (W1 D4), Atlanta United will face the challenge of 11th-place DC United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta tomorrow. The visitor has been inconsistent of late, recording 2 victories, 2 draws, and 1 defeat in their last five league games. Last time out, Atlanta steals a point on their visit to Los Angeles courtesy of a brilliant performance by their goalkeeper Brad Guzan who produced 8 saves in that game. That is their fourth draw in a row and they will be looking to get back to winning ways in this game in front of their supporters. Meanwhile, DC United manage to claim all three points on their visit to Miami to beat Inter Miami thanks to a 90th-minute winner from Christian Benteke. That is their first win in the last three league games and Wayne Rooney’s side will take confidence from that performance to try to keep the momentum going in this game. However, in the last four meetings between the two sides, it was Atlanta United who dominated with them winning all of those games. But Atlanta will be without the services of three players for this game, with Amir Sejdic, Erik Lopez, and Osvaldo Alonso on the sidelines. That injury situation is still better than their opponent DC United as they have a lengthy injury list at this moment in time, with Luis Zamudio, Russell Canouse, Luan, Mohanad Jeahze, Nigel Robertha, and Martin Rodriguez all out of action. All those leads to me backing Atlanta United to get back to winning ways in this game.
Prediction: 55 – 45
Montreal vs Minnesota United
Saputo Stadium in Montreal will host the game between Montreal and Minnesota United this Sunday. Two teams are only separated by one point in the table with the visitor Minnesota United having a one-point lead over the host at the moment. The visitor is without a win in their last three league games (D2 L1) and in their last game, they were to forced to settle for a point when they entertain Toronto at home. They even nearly lost the game if not for an 89th-minute equalizer from the substitute Kervin Arriaga. As for Montreal, they lost their last two league games but those two games were on the road. At home, they are pretty solid. They won all of the last five games at Saputo Stadium in all competitions, scoring nine goals while conceding none in the process. That positive record at home will surely breed confidence for Hernan Losada’s side and they will be determined to end their three games losing record against Minnesota United in this game. To make it more interesting, Minnesota United holds the second-best away games record in the league with 12 points collected in 9 games (W4 L5). However, they lost four of their last five games on the road (W1) and that is something that can be used to boost Montreal’s player’s morale ahead of this game. Montreal’s recent excellent record at home will be the key differential in this game where I expect the home side to claim all the three points here.
Prediction: 55 – 45
Charlotte vs Seattle
Just recorded two consecutive defeats in the league against Philadelphia Union and Columbus Crew, Charlotte FC will have another tough challenge this weekend when they entertain Seattle at Bank of America Stadium. Seattle is 5th in the league at the moment, but could only win one of their last five league games (D1 L3). In their last game, they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Portland despite controlling 61% of ball possession. They could also only manage to produce 1 shot on target throughout the match and that is the homework for their manager Brian Schmetzer to solve ahead of their visit to Charlotte this Sunday. In the meantime, Charlotte lost four of the last five games in all competitions (W1). They also lost their last home game against Nashville where they got beaten 2-1 in that game due to the last-minute goal scored by Nashville’s player. This game will be the second meeting between the two sides at MLS and Seattle won the game in a reverse fixture last year. The home side will be without the service of Hamady Diop, Enzo Copetti, Kamil Jozwiak, and George Marks in this game as they are still recovering from their injuries. Meanwhile, the visitor will be missing their top scorer Jordan Morris and their midfielder Ethan Dobbelaere through injury in this game. Jordan Morris’ absence in this game will be a big blow for Seattle as he is their top scorer in the league with 9 goals scored from 15 appearances. Without him, Seattle will have weaker attacking forces and that is good news for Charlotte to take the initiative to attack from the beginning of the match. It will be tight but I think Charlotte will be the one to take the three points from this game.
Prediction: 55 – 45
New England vs Inter Miami
Without a win in their last six games in all competitions (D3 L3), New England will welcome the visit of Inter Miami at Gillette Stadium this Sunday. The visitor has been out of form in recent weeks but they grabbed the headline as they manage to sign the superstar, Lionel Messi. The departure of their manager Phil Neville is expected after the England man could only record five wins from 11 league games at the start of the season and then proceed to lose five straight league games. Inter Miami then turn their hope to the interim manager Javier Morales to improve their situation ahead of the arrival of Lionel Messi next month. On the other side, New England has been struggling in recent weeks, and last time out they hold NY City to a 0-0 draw on their visit to New York. Despite failing to win any of their last five games in the league, New England remains in 6th position and they will be determined to try to hold that playoff spot. There is no fresh injury concern for Bruce Arena’s side for this game and he could go with the same starting XI on their visit to New York last week. Meanwhile, Inter Miami will be missing their defender Kamal Miller as he will be serving his suspension and at the moment, he is the only confirmed absentee for them in this game. It is hard to separate these two sides at the moment and I think in the end the spoils will be shared here.
Prediction: 50 – 50
Orlando vs Colorado
Two teams in contrasting form, Orlando and Colorado, will face each other at Exploria Stadium in Orlando this weekend. The home side is unbeaten in their last five league games (W2 D3) while the visitor is failed to record a single victory from their last six league games (D1 L5). Colorado manages to stop their five games losing run in the league when they hold San Jose to a 0-0 draw at home last week. However, that point came at a cost of a red card for their player Moise Bambito and in that game, Colorado’s player Connor Ronan failed to convert a penalty in the 70th minute. Those bad moments are not an ideal momentum to help boost their confidence ahead of their visit to Orlando who in their last game, Orlando manage to record a solid 3-0 victory over New York Red Bulls. One thing really interesting from Orlando this season is that they hold the best away games record in the league but at home, they could only collect 9 points from the last 8 home games. A game against a struggling side like Colorado really presents them with a great opportunity to improve their record at home and continue their climb up the table. Moreover, they have more motivation to end their winless record against Colorado which stretches to four games in all competitions now (D3 L1). Abdi Salim and Luca Petrasso remain out for Orlando in this game while the visitor will miss Moise Bambito and Max Alves through suspension for this game. I’m expecting Orlando to continue their unbeaten with a win over a struggling Colorado side here.
Prediction: 60 – 40
Toronto vs Nashville
Nashville’s impressive run of form continues as they manage to extend their unbeaten run to seven games in the league when they record a victory on their visit to Dallas last week. An own goal from FC Dallas midfielder Nolan Morris and Hany Mukhtar’s 10th goal of the season was enough to seal their four consecutive three points in the league. Those positive run of results put Nashville 2nd in the league at the moment and they will be keen to at last stay there in the remaining games of the campaign. Meanwhile, Toronto FC themselves are currently unbeaten in their last three games in the league (W1 D2) with their last two games in the league seeing them record back-to-back draws against Chicago Fire and Minnesota United. That positive run of results put Toronto in the 22nd position in the league at the moment. Interestingly, Nashville has failed to beat Toronto in the last four meetings in the league (D2 L2). That will ultimately boost the confidence of Bob Bradley’s side ahead of this game. Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi have a combined 5 goals scored between them in the league so far and will be relied upon by Bob Bradley to attack Nashville’s strong defense that boasts the second-best defensive record in the league. It will be tight and both teams have the qualities to hurt each other here. I think a draw would be the likeliest outcome from this close contest.
Prediction: 50 – 50

2023.06.10 04:45 HOCKHOCKHOCKHOCKHOCK Chat GPT Death Battle tournament. Round 2!
| Current Bracket This is the 2nd round of the Chat GPT tournament bracket. As a refresher of the rules For each match I give a brand new ChatGPT thread the following prompt "Script a fight between [Character A] and [Character B]. The fight should start with the characters using their weaker abilities and pulling out stronger attacks as the fight goes on. You must decide who wins the fight based on logic and the fight must end in the death of the loser." I will not reset a script unless Rule 1 or 2 are broken. (Sometimes ChatGPT will literally replace the winner with "your winner pick") All characters were selected by commenters on a previous post. DISCLAIMER: ChatGPT generated every fight on their own with the rules provided. I gave them no info on either character. Incorrect representation of personalities or abilities, as well as objectively false outcomes that may come from these fights are due to limitations by the AI itself. ROUND 2 FIGHT 1: Tartaglia (Genshin Impact) vs Kratos (God of War) INT. MYSTERIOUS ARENA - DAY Tartaglia, the sneering Harbinger of the Fatui from Genshin Impact, and Kratos, the vengeful Spartan God of War, stand on opposite ends of a grand arena. The air crackles with anticipation as they prepare to engage in an epic battle. TARTAGLIA (brandishing his Hydro Vision) Well, well, what have we here? Another foolhardy warrior seeking a taste of my power? Prepare to be outmatched, mortal. KRATOS (grasping the Blades of Chaos) Your arrogance will be your downfall, creature. I have faced gods and monsters alike. You shall not be an exception. They both charge forward, each unleashing their weaker abilities as the battle begins. Tartaglia conjures water blades, slashing through the air towards Kratos. He then calls forth his elemental skill, "Havoc: Obliteration," firing a powerful water arrow that explodes upon impact. Kratos, using his Spartan Rage, channels his fury, enhancing his strength and resistance. He charges through the water blades, enduring their impact, and retaliates with a relentless assault of swift and powerful strikes from his blades. The battle intensifies as Tartaglia, realizing the gravity of the situation, taps into his more potent Hydro abilities. He activates his elemental burst, "Havoc: Tidebreaker," summoning a colossal tidal wave that crashes towards Kratos. Kratos, unyielding, pushes against the torrent with all his might, barely holding his ground. His rage-fueled power amplifies as he summons the Leviathan Axe, imbued with ice elemental abilities, and hurls it towards Tartaglia. The clash of Kratos' Leviathan Axe and Tartaglia's tidal wave causes a monumental explosion, temporarily obscuring the arena. Emerging from the smoke, both combatants reveal their resolve to claim victory. TARTAGLIA (mocking) Is that the best you can do, Spartan? Your strength is nothing compared to the power of the Archon. KRATOS (gritted teeth) You underestimate me at your own peril, harpy. I am the Ghost of Sparta, and I will not be defeated. As the fight enters its final phase, both fighters unleash their ultimate abilities, combining the full extent of their powers. Tartaglia harnesses the true potential of his Hydro Vision, transforming into his mighty Primal form, the "Lord of the Vishaps." He summons water dragons that ravage the battlefield, assaulting Kratos relentlessly. Kratos, driven to the edge, taps into his godly might, assuming his Spartan God form. His body becomes engulfed in divine flames as he unleashes the full force of his Spartan Rage and Spartan Fury, delivering earth-shattering blows. Their clash reaches its climax, shaking the arena to its core. The combatants give their all, but in the end, a winner emerges. Tartaglia, battered and exhausted, falls to his knees, unable to withstand the relentless onslaught of Kratos' divine fury. With a final strike from the Blades of Chaos, Kratos pierces Tartaglia's heart, ending the battle. Kratos stands over the fallen Tartaglia, his victory confirmed. The arena falls into silence as the crowd witnesses the overwhelming might of the Ghost of Sparta. FADE OUT. WINNER: Kratos (God of War) ROUND 2 FIGHT 2: Son Goku (Dragon Ball) vs Chuck Norris (memes) INT. BATTLE ARENA - DAY The arena is filled with anticipation as Goku and Chuck Norris step into the ring. The crowd roars with excitement, eager to witness this epic clash between two iconic figures. Goku, a Saiyan warrior with incredible power, stands tall with his signature orange gi, a confident smile on his face. Chuck Norris, the legendary martial artist and internet meme, exudes an aura of unstoppable strength. Goku (smirking): So, Chuck Norris, you think you can handle a Saiyan? Chuck Norris (grinning): Goku, you're in for a surprise. Let's see what you've got. They both take their starting positions, ready for combat. Goku charges at Chuck Norris, launching a flurry of rapid punches and kicks. Chuck Norris effortlessly dodges and counters with lightning-fast strikes, displaying his incredible martial arts skills. Goku (impressed): Not bad, Chuck! But let's see how you handle this! Goku charges up a small Kamehameha wave and fires it at Chuck Norris, who calmly blocks it with his bare hands, showcasing his immense durability. Goku senses the need to step up his game. He transforms into Super Saiyan form, his golden hair and aura intensifying. Goku (grinning): Now, Chuck, things are about to get serious! Chuck Norris smirks and taps into his legendary meme powers, enhancing his already impressive strength and speed. They engage in a fierce exchange of blows, each landing powerful strikes on the other. Goku launches an enormous Spirit Bomb, gathering energy from the surroundings, while Chuck Norris summons the powers of the internet memes, creating a devastating Roundhouse Kick of Destruction. The Spirit Bomb and the Roundhouse Kick collide in an explosion that shakes the entire arena. Both fighters stand, panting heavily, their bodies bruised and battered. But there can only be one victor. Goku, realizing the seriousness of the situation, channels all his remaining energy into one last attack. He unleashes the Ultra Instinct, a state of being where his reflexes and power reach their peak. Goku (whispering): This is my final move, Chuck! Goku charges towards Chuck Norris at an incredible speed, delivering a barrage of punches and kicks with unparalleled precision. Chuck Norris, though overwhelmed, refuses to back down. He counters Goku's attacks with unmatched skill, trading blows with the Saiyan warrior. In a climactic moment, Goku delivers a devastating punch that connects with Chuck Norris's chest, shattering his legendary invincibility. Chuck Norris, stunned, realizes the battle is over. He falls to his knees, gasping for breath, his body unable to withstand Goku's final attack. Goku (looking somber): It's over, Chuck. You fought valiantly, but I had to protect my world. Chuck Norris, with a faint smile, nods in acknowledgment. Chuck Norris: You're the stronger one, Goku. Farewell. Chuck Norris collapses to the ground, lifeless, ending the battle between two legends. The crowd falls silent, paying respect to both fighters. Goku takes a moment to mourn the fallen warrior before exiting the arena, victorious but somber. FADE OUT. WINNER: Son Goku (Dragon Ball) ROUND 2 FIGHT 3: Seiya (Saint Seiya) vs Erika Furudo (Umineko) INT. COSMIC ARENA - DAY The cosmic arena is shrouded in an ethereal glow, crackling with energy. Seiya, the Bronze Saint of Pegasus, stands tall with his Cosmo ablaze, while Erika Furudo, the Golden Witch of Truth, exudes an aura of mystery and power. SEIYA I won't let evil prevail! Pegasus Meteor Fist! Seiya unleashes a barrage of meteor-like punches, hurtling towards Erika. ERIKA (chanting) Red Truth, deny falsehood! Erika raises her hand, invoking the power of the Red Truth, forming a barrier that deflects the meteor strikes. She then retaliates. ERIKA Blue Truth, reveal the weak points! Erika's words pierce the air, targeting Seiya's vulnerabilities. Seiya stumbles, his movements momentarily hindered. SEIYA Not giving up! Pegasus Rolling Crush! Seiya spins, unleashing a flurry of kicks, aiming to break through Erika's defenses. ERIKA (whispering) Golden Truth, manifest your wrath! Erika's whispers resonate with ancient magic, summoning golden chains that ensnare Seiya, restraining his movements. SEIYA Grr... Pegasus Divine Ascension! Seiya gathers his Cosmo, propelling himself upward, breaking free from the golden chains. He then dives down with immense speed, aiming for Erika. ERIKA (voice filled with certainty) Golden Truth, sever all bonds! Erika's command causes the chains to transform into countless blades, intercepting Seiya's descent, creating a barrier of blades. SEIYA Unyielding! Pegasus Comet Fist! Seiya channels his Cosmo into his fists, smashing through the barrier of blades, closing in on Erika. ERIKA (whispering, eyes shining) Golden Truth, shatter illusions! Erika's whisper intensifies, releasing a wave of energy that distorts reality. Seiya's vision becomes hazy, making it difficult to locate Erika. SEIYA I can't lose now! Pegasus Nova! Seiya unleashes a powerful energy blast, surging through the haze, aimed at Erika's position. ERIKA (rising above the haze, determined) Golden Truth, pierce through the darkness! Erika's voice cuts through the haze, and a beam of golden light materializes, deflecting Seiya's attack. She counters with her ultimate move. ERIKA Golden Truth, Witch's Judgment! Erika's eyes glow with an intense golden light. Seiya is engulfed in a torrent of energy, his Cosmos crushed under the immense power of the Witch's Judgment. SEIYA (struggling) I won't... give up! Seiya's voice weakens, and his body collapses, defeated. His Cosmos fades away, leaving only silence. FADE OUT. Winner: Erika Furudo (Umineko) ROUND 2 FIGHT 4: Alucard (Hellsing) vs Reverse Flash (DC comics) INT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE - NIGHT The dimly lit warehouse stands silent, shrouded in an eerie atmosphere. Suddenly, a gust of wind blows through the room, followed by a crackle of lightning. Reverse Flash, a speedster dressed in yellow and black, materializes. Across from him, Alucard, a dark and enigmatic vampire, appears with his crimson eyes gleaming. REVERSE FLASH (mocking) Well, well, what do we have here? A bloodsucking vampire? This should be fun! ALUCARD (smiling wickedly) Indeed. You've caught my attention, speedster. Let's see if your speed can match my darkness. The battle commences as the adversaries circle each other, testing their abilities. Alucard extends his arm, releasing shadows that transform into demonic hounds charging at Reverse Flash. But with his incredible speed, Reverse Flash easily evades their attacks, darting around the room. REVERSE FLASH (chuckling) You'll have to do better than that, Dracula! Alucard smirks and his form begins to change. His shadowy essence swirls around him, transforming him into a monstrous, winged creature. He lunges at Reverse Flash, clawing through the air with incredible strength and speed. However, Reverse Flash vibrates his molecules, allowing the creature's attack to pass harmlessly through him. REVERSE FLASH (grinning) Impressive, vampire, but your tricks won't work on me! Now it's Reverse Flash's turn. He taps into the Speed Force, his body vibrating with an intense energy. He moves so fast that he becomes a blur, delivering lightning-fast punches and kicks to Alucard. The vampire's supernatural durability allows him to withstand the onslaught, but the impact weakens him. ALUCARD (blood dripping from his mouth) You may be fast, but you lack the darkness that fuels me! Alucard's eyes glow with renewed intensity. He releases the restriction seals on his power, unleashing his true form. Shadows envelop the entire warehouse as Alucard's presence becomes even more ominous. He disappears from sight, leaving Reverse Flash momentarily disoriented. REVERSE FLASH (concerned) Where did you go? Alucard's voice echoes through the room, chilling Reverse Flash to the bone. ALUCARD (whispering) I am everywhere and nowhere, speedster. Your speed won't save you from my darkness. Reverse Flash frantically looks around, but Alucard's words prove true. Shadows converge on Reverse Flash from all directions, binding him in an inescapable grip. Alucard materializes before him, his eyes glowing with an unholy light. ALUCARD (grinning) It's time to embrace eternal darkness. Alucard's monstrous form lunges at Reverse Flash, sinking his fangs deep into his neck. The vampire drains his opponent's life force, feeding on his super-speed and preventing any chance of escape. REVERSE FLASH (struggling weakly) No... this can't be... As Reverse Flash's life force fades away, Alucard retracts his fangs, letting the lifeless body of his defeated opponent fall to the ground. The room returns to its eerie silence as Alucard stands victorious. FADE OUT. WINNER: Alucard (Hellsing) Well there it is. Round 2. Chat GPT shows some clear issues here even moreso than last round but hey, that's part of the fun. Sorry if your favorite character was Reverse Flash lmao. Robbed. 2023.06.10 04:18 Luckcu13 Eartips compatible with Shure IEMs?
Does anyone know of any eartips that would be compatible with Shure IEMs? I've been playing around with my KSE1500 recently and was figuring out which one out of them had the best sound and isolation. The white triple flanges sounded the best to me by far. The single silicone tips were a good mix of comfort and sound quality (from isolation) and were the easiest to put on, and the Olives had issues with seal but were the most comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
But man, those triple flanges are really uncomfortable. I can't wear them for more than two or three hours. Doesn't help that they're a magnet for my wet earwax. If I could get something that deep seated but more comfortable, I think I would be pretty happy. I don't know if there's any aftermarket tips that would be compatible with Shure's tiny nozzles.
I've heard that Etymotic are the king of triple flanges, are comfortable, and I've also heard that their nozzles are similar to the Shures, and that Shures fit on their stuff. So I was wondering if it went the other way too, that I could use Etymotics triple flanges on my Shures.
Any other suggestions are also welcome. I know about Comply's stuff, have had a good experience with them on my Sony IEMs, but the ones I have don't seem to be what I'm looking for.
No budget limit. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Oh, I actually have a few more questions/thoughts.
First of all, I took another look at the Comply website and saw that they have "professional" versions for Shure that seem to be a deeper fit. I'll probably try some of them out. Tip suggestions still very welcome.
Second of all, I'm also wondering if there's any (ideally 2 pin) retractable cables, kinda
like the billion retractable USB cables you see on Amazon. Would make the carrying experience for my wired IEMs a lot less annoying. Not exactly related to my Shure IEM question, since I can't do anything to the KSE cable, but it would be welcome advice nonetheless.
Thanks again.

2023.06.10 00:40 MotivicRunner 2023 Paris Diamond League -- Jakob Ingebrigtsen tries to become the second man to run a sub-8 2mi; Faith Kipyegon and Letesenbet Gidey face off at 5000m; Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone finally opens up her outdoor season with a flat 400m; and Lamecha Girma attacks the 3000mSC world record
Last week's post-race discussion seemed to be a bit more fun for me and the people who stopped by to chat, so I'm continuing that today. Our fourth stop in the Diamond League season takes us to the Paris, which will host the 2024 Olympics in just over a year. The outdoor season is now in full swing as we have just over two months to go until the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, which start August 19. If you are interested in keeping track of qualification standings, the
Road to Budapest page is a a very helpful tool.
As I put in the title, there were four big storylines in the running events that I was paying attention to as we headed into this meet.
- While this was scheduled just before the TV window and the 2 mile is rarely run at the professional level, any time someone goes after a Daniel Komen record is worth paying attention to. For over 25 years, Komen has been the only man to run under 8 minutes for two miles, and Jakob Ingebrigtsen went into this meet looking to join the sub-8 club and break Komen's record of 7:58:61.
- Fresh off of her 3:49.11 world record 1500m in Florence last week, Faith Kipyegon stepped up in distance to the 5000m to square off against the reigning world record holder, Letsenbet Gidey, in her first race since a grueling DNF just in front of the finish line at World XC in Bathurst this winter.
- Since she races so sparingly and hasn't run a Diamond League race since 2019, the fact that Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone chose to fly to Paris to run a flat 400m to open up her outdoor season created a lot of buzz. How would McLaughlin-Levrone's dominance in the 400m hurdles over the past few year translate to a race against specialists in the 400m flat?
- Speaking of Daniel Komen records, how would Lamecha Girma's 7:23:81 in February to break Komen's indoor 3000m record translate to his first race over barriers this season? Last month Girma showed he was in good form by running 7:26.18 to beat a strong field in the Doha DL 3000m, and he needs to keep that form going if he wants to finally win a global steeplechase gold after three consecutive silvers.
These are my personal thoughts from the meet to get the discussion going (spoilers ahead!). Where available, I've linked the NBC highlight videos.
- Men's 2mi Ingebrigtsen didn't just break Komen's record -- he smashed it! He ran 7:54.10 to take more than 4s off of the previous record, which has stood since before he was born. I'm a little disappointed that this race didn't get included in the TV window for the international broadcast. Even though 2 miles is a rarely-run distance and this was purely an Ingebrigtsen time trial (second place was 15 seconds back), a record attempt is still worth hyping up and fitting into the broadcast in my opinion. At the very least, the international broadcast did include a very brief flashback to at least show that the record happened. ETA: Here is a pirate upload of Ingebrigtsen's full run.
- Women's 800m This race wasn't really on my radar before the meet, but it was exciting to see Keely Hodgkinson dominate the field in her outdoor season opener. She ran a world-leading 1:55.77 to win by over 2s and shave 0.11s off of her previous 800m pb. A lot can happen between now and August, but since Athing Mu still hasn't raced at all this year, right now Hodgkinson has the momentum on her side with today's run.
- Women's 5000m This was the second world record in as many weeks for Faith Kipyegon -- 14:05.20 to take 1.4s off of Letesenbet Gidey's previous record of 14:06.62! I think that we could be very close to seeing the first woman run sub-14. This week's run further cements Kipyegon as the dominant athlete in the women's 1500m, and it also shows that she could jump up to 5000m and be an immediate gold medal contender! I didn't see any discussion of a possible world record attempt in the previews I read beforehand, but it was floated almost in passing at the start of the race broadcast when they talked about the pacing setup. From the outset, this was very much a two person race between Kipyegon and Gidey, and they were together all the way until the last 200m. Even though I'm sure Gidey wanted to win the race, she ended up being almost the perfect rabbit for Kipyegon, who happily tucked in behind Gidey for the first 4300m. Kipyegon took the lead at about 700m to go, but didn't decisively pull away until the last 200m, which is where she also sealed the world record. Gidey still ran well -- 14:07.94 for 2nd is still the third-fastest time ever -- and I'm glad that she seems to have recovered from her collapse at World XC. That said, it must be frustrating for Gidey to have run so quickly but not win a 5000m final since the 2020 race in which she set the previous world record.
- Women's 400m Expectations were high for Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone in this race -- her first Diamond League race since 2019 and her first open 400m since 2021. McLaughlin-Levrone got off to a very aggressive start with a 22.66s first 200m -- almost 0.5s faster than the next-fastest first 200m -- but that early aggression came back to bite her as she faded hard over the last 100m. Marileidy Paulino, the Tokyo 2021 and Eugene 2022 silver medalist in this event, remained calm throughout the entire race and eased by McLaughlin-Levrone in the final 50m to take the win in 49.12 to McLaughlin-Levrone's 49.71 for second place and maintain her pride as a flat 400m specialist.
- Men's 3000mSC Lamecha Girma was able to set the third world record of the meet by running 7:52.11 to take 1.5s off of Saif Saaeed Shaheen's 19-year-old record of 7:53.63. If Girma and Soufiane El Bakkali continue to push each other this season, I wouldn't be surprised if they take the record even further. With this race, Girma is setting himself up well to try and win his first global gold medal in the steeplechase after so many silvers. While this race was essentially Girma against the clock with how far ahead he was of everyone else, I have to give props to Ryuji Miura for running a small PB to take second place in 8:09.91.
Feel free to use this thread to discuss the meet.

| I found an old patent/technical drawing online from the pre printer days. It’s a resin cast 40mm long range projectile with delayed fuse and blast dispersed irritant + rubber balls capable of punching through walls/doors (could be downloaded with a foam nose for direct impact + blast. Is there any way to 3D print this so it’s more modular (scale to 37 or 40mm, hard or foam nose cone, and less polymer fragmentation on detonation so it’s mostly irritant and rubber balls? submitted by KrinkyDink2 to fosscad [link] [comments] |
2023.06.09 23:33 Enali (Spoilers Extended) And Out Come the Wolves...
“Now this is the Law of the Jungle -- as old and as true as the sky; And the Wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the Wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk the Law runneth forward and back -- For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.” (Rudyard Kipling)
Will the Stark direwolves face off against the Bolton hounds as the white winds blow across the frozen wilds in the Battle of Ice? Towards the leadup to Game of Thrones' Battle of Bastards episode GRRM left this tantalizing glimpse for its showrunners:
[N.B. A note for future reference. A season or two down the line Ramsay’s pack of wolfhounds are going to be sent against the Stark direwolves, so we should build up the dogs as much as possible in this and subsequent episodes.]
And it feels like there's a sense of certainty in the note that clues us to the future of his work, but how
could it even work in the books? The march on Winterfell so far is a fair bit different than its show counterpart (assuming that's what it is), and the direwolves are spread all across the map, seemingly content to be where they are. But with Boltons on a collision course with Stannis, and the food running sparse, it sets a short time window for this encounter to manifest, assuming of course, that the Boltons are defeated in the fight. Which perhaps teasingly takes form in a village in the middle of the giant primordial forest called the Wolfswood.
"The wolfswood," Benjen Stark called it, and indeed their nights came alive with the howls of distant packs, and some not so distant. Jon Snow's albino direwolf pricked up his ears at the nightly howling, but never raised his own voice in reply. There was something very unsettling about that animal, Tyrion thought.
Given Stannis' confirmed role in the burning of Shireen, and Dany's HotU vision of the blue eyed king casting no shadow, (as well as the fan favorite Night Lamp theory) it seems like a safe guess he will survive the first bout at least.
Despite the limitations of time and distance several clues surrounding the training of Ramsay's hounds in the books seem to suggest similar buildup:
"He's trained 'em to kill wolves as well," Ben Bones had confided. Reek said nothing. He knew which wolves the girls were meant to kill, but he had no wish to watch the girls fighting over his severed toe.
...
"Stark's little wolflings are dead," said Ramsay, sloshing some more ale into his cup, "and they'll stay dead. Let them show their ugly faces, and my girls will rip those wolves of theirs to pieces. The sooner they turn up, the sooner I kill them again."
and this quote not directly referencing Ramsay's hounds but seemingly related (credit to LChris24's
post or I would have missed this one):
The rest of the dogs were close behind, the hounds sniffing and barking, a pair of monstrous mastiffs bringing up the rear. Their size and ferocity might make the difference against a cornered direwolf.
I think there is a solid amount of buildup to the possibility of these two forces coming together, claw and gnashing fang.
The Call of the Wild
“The Wild still lingered in him and the wolf in him merely slept.” (Jack London)
Of the four remaining direwolves in the series though their positions are spread far from Winterfell, so the logistics of having the come together will be important for this to work.
Summer - we last leave Bran's direwolf at the cave of the last greenseer, at the giant weirwood who's roots lead to Westeros' underworld. The drifts have grown so strong that the entrance to the cavern has become snowed over - something Summer must dig through each night to join his pack and hunt while the restless dead wander outside (and living prey remain scarce), before retreating to the cave during the day to to get good-boy head pats from Meera sitting with Bran near the fire. Bran's connection to Summer remains, though his identity seems to be becoming more and more split between his various forms, sometimes as Summer, others as a raven learning to fly or in the roots of the tree traversing time and space. Summer has been able to take control of One Eye's small pack (who is being warged into by Varamyr) after their skirmish and they were even able to take out an undead snow bear together. So what could get Summer moving south? Will Bran read the fates in the tree and send him out? Will something happen to Bran at the tree that sets this event in motion? Summer may not be the largest of the direwolves, though he is often perceived as the smartest and most perceptive.
Shaggydog - Rickon's black direwolf with the eyes of green wildfire is the most savage of the pack, despite his size, and Rickon himself seems to becoming more and more in tune with his wolf each passing day. A strengthening connection Jon seemed to experience as well after reuniting with Ghost leading up to the mutiny. Rickon also seems to have a connection to prophecy similar to Bran, awaiting their father in the Crypts of Winterfell... though unlike Bran he seems to have more a natural comfort in darkness and with death. Shaggydog is in Skagos, last seen in one of Jon's wolf dreams tearing off the flesh of an enormous goat/[unicorn] in a wild rain washing the blood where his prey's horn raked him. In the early drafts of AFFC (thanks to gsteff's research) we actually see that the direwolf was sharing the kill 'with his other half' though that part was removed leaving Rickon's fate more uncertain. How does he get back? That part seems clear at least, Davos is currently en route to try to retrieve the boy and bring him for Wyman Manderly to setup as an heir to Winterfell, though there are plenty of ominous signs on the voyage (the barren seal rock, Davos' missing fingerbones, and per Bran Rickon telling him no will ever come back to Winterfell).
Nymeria - Arya's wolfie is leading a very successful life since she was let go near the Trident to protect her from Cersei's wrath, a spot she hasn't strayed too far from given the abundance of prey compared to the frigid north. Nymeria has gathered an enormous following of wolves that haunts the Riverlands and the Kingsroad. ("She says there's this great pack, hundreds of them, mankillers. The one that leads them is a she-wolf, a bitch from the seventh hell.") Under Nymeria's leadership her grey cousins have "lost all fear of men" ransacking baggage trains, killing armed sentries near Riverrun, and even tearing apart a group of Brave Companions, so that its remarked that they are not wolves at all but "demons in the skins of wolves, sent to chastise us for our sins." Nymeria seems to represent the one part of Arya that she can't shake even as she convinces herself that she is no one, or that she is a cat now wandering Braavos. At night the dreams return tethering her to her roots. In Mercy's Winds excerpt we see a last glimpse of Nymeria, running through dark pine forests hard on the scent of prey, and with a howling in her heart, the full moon overhead as the tree (perhaps Bran or Bloodraven) watches her run. Is she still in the Riverlands (if so will she play a part in the events around Lady Stoneheart) or has she finally started to head home? I'd hate for her to be left out of the reunion as... "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. "
Ghost - And of course Jon's direwolf, Ghost, his silent white shadow. Ghost is left at Castle Black while the mutiny occurs, and it seems likely, that with Jon's last words they are now together in one form. This would also fit Melisandre vision "Now he was a man, now a wolf, now a man again." Jon has also thought in the past if some part of his brothers remained in their wolves when they died. But Ghost was left locked up in the Lord Commander's Tower to prevent an incident with the skinchanger Borroq or his giant boar who the wolf distrusts. Will the mutineers go after Ghost now that Jon has been slain? If so he may need to fight his way out once they open the doors.... or, perhaps, Melisandre might let him go herself. Ghost and her have a pretty uncanny connection with their blazing red eyes (though Jon thinks the red of Ghost's eyes is more of the Old Gods), and Ghost even hesitates to leave her side to go back to Jon when called ("Warmth calls to warmth, Jon Snow"). According to Melisandre there is power in him and the beast which Jon Snow has been resisting and is yet to use... She also mentions Lord Snow would have need of her beyond the Wall ("He does not know it yet, but soon..."). Very mysterious....
But one thing seems clearer, if Ghost is to head south, he already has good cause to. One of Jon's last convictions before his death was to march south to Winterfell try to save his sister after incited by the pink letter. If his soul has carried over to the wolf perhaps that conviction may still remain....
There may or may not even be one subtle additional hint that Summer and Shaggydog could be in Winterfell soon worth discussing. In the finale chapter of A Clash of Kings Bran has one of the more prominent wolf dreams in the series while hiding in the crypts. In it he sees Winterfell burned and everyone there killled, and we are meant to believe that this was the view of what was happening right outside, as the Bolton forces sacked it. But while what he sees seems to match up, some elements of the dream remain questionable - among them the "great winged snake whose roar was a river of flame." (a pretty reasonable depiction of a dragon that might occur from a wolf's pov). Though the interpretation differs amongst readers - Some believe its just GRRM taking visual liberties with the smoke and fire... though wolves recognized real smoke and fire just before that and wolf povs are fairly unpoetic with their descriptions. Some also think it it may have been a way to describe the red comet, but the figure soon disappears from view which could be strange, unless its just meant to be obscured. Or was it a real dragon? It might have been one of the rumored offspring of Vermax born near the hot springs, sneaking in during the carnage. Osha does mention that they "made noise enough to wake a dragon." But perhaps one other interpretation is that Bran was dreaming green, seeing prophecy instead of present. Because Winterfell has been partially rebuilt by the Boltons and Freys during their occupation, we may see Winterfell burned once more. If Stannis takes the city, he may just start a new fire to wake dragons from stone, one that may escape his control.
The Cry of the Blood Moon
There is one really interesting way I think the direwolves might be finally called together. There's been a lot said about how quiet is Ghost throughout the books.... only Jon seems to hear him, perhaps telepathically, calling to him at the beginning when no one else could. But with Jon now inhabiting Ghost, could the direwolf gain his voice at last?
Ghost sat on his haunches watching, silent as ever. Will he howl for me when I'm dead, as Bran's wolf howled when he fell? Jon wondered. Will Shaggydog howl, far off in Winterfell, and Grey Wind and Nymeria, wherever they might be?
Ghost is drawn to the hills and the high places looking up at the stars, and while he starts off the smallest of the litter he soon grows to be the largest of the direwolves, perhaps foreshadowing his strength and leadership. Maybe its fitting then that it would be Ghost that calls them home to be a pack again with the boy's death.
Do they miss their brothers and sisters too? Bran wondered. Are they calling to Grey Wind and Ghost, to Nymeria and Lady's Shade? Do they want them to come home and be a pack together?
And if so would it be a physical blood curdling howl in grief or a telepathic one?
There was ice underfoot, and broken stones just waiting to turn an ankle, and the wind was howling fiercely. It sounds like a wolf, thought Sansa. A ghost wolf, big as mountains.

2023.06.09 22:56 Neuzhand Layered security: How to get the best of all worlds (Thanks to coldcard!)
After the recent Ledger Debacle, I've had to rethink through security heavily. I am going to lay out my security protocols for people to help me find a weakness I haven't foreseen, or to help others improve how they think about their threat vectors.
My approach is NOT right for most people, but may help some people on here improve their own security, especially in light of the recover debacle. In my situation, I'm securing a substantial amount of cryptocurrency (more than $1 million), it is a large proportion of my net worth & investments, and I have a family to consider, but don't feel like this level of value can be trusted in the hands of anyone else. I am located in the U.S.
Objectives:
- The system must provide protection for top altcoins as well as BTC; The majority is in BTC & ETH, with substantial but much smaller percentages in other coins.
- The system must provide strong, reasonable protections against the normal culprits: Malware, social engineering/hacking, malicious firmware, opportunistic theft, fire, and flood
- Loss of the system due to a large scale natural disaster (huge explosions, catastrophic flooding, small meteors, etc) should be minimized if possible.
- The system must be substantially hardened against even targeted, thorough theft attempts. All attackers are assumed to be capable, have access to resources, and motivated.
- Knowledge of the system's structure & setup will not be sufficient for anyone to break
- The system ***must*** be recoverable by family upon my death, including by non-technical people. The system must also be recoverable by me if I suffer a complete loss of my memory; Essentially, no secret knowledge can be required of a participant.
- The system assumes that the court system of the U.S. will provide the safe guardrails to accomplish the previous step.
- The System aims to provide reasonable protection against a malicious government or court that might seize many assets (Ala FBI agents who stole coins from Ross before getting caught).
- The system must be able to be recovered & restored, safely, by a relatively non-technical person following instructions, possibly with help from (untrusted) technical people.
- The system must be recoverable even in 20 or 30 years; Protected against corrosion, moisture/mold damage and also from bitrot of potentially abandoned softwares or schemes.
- The system must be resilient against malicious action by at least 2 people in a position of trust, but generally many more.
- The system must not have a single point of failure at any point from end to end.
- The damage that can be done by a worst-case scenario from a single entity like Ledger is minimized.
- Maximizes privacy where practical.
In my opinion, most people's security is by far weakest on the physical storage of their recovery seed, or on its recoverability by family. People fail to consider the myriad of ways things can change or go wrong over many years. Here is what I reject as insufficient:
- Storing a seed phrase, encrypted or not, online in any fashion. (Violates 2, 6, and 11)
- Storing a seed phrase in a secret location (Violates 5, 6 and probably 3)
- Storing a seed phrase in a safety deposit box (Violates 11, 4 and 8).
- Storing a seed phrase in a privately vault service (Violates 11 and possibly 4)
- Using a multi-sig solution (Violates 1)
- Storing coins on an exchange(Duh)
- Storing coins with an exchange custody service (Violates 11, 8, doesn't support all coins needed, and can be socially engineered)
The only approach that seems to provide sufficient security is to fragment my seed into an M of N system. I have taken this approach for years, but am now refining it. But the problem with virtually every fragmentation approach boils down to violating part #6, recoverability by non-technical friends and family, as well as potential bitrot issues of unsupported or forgotten storage schemes. The number of people I've seen posting about how to recover the Mycelium wallets over the years is too damn high, and a lot of software gets abandoned and stops working if the main developer dies or moves on.
These are the options and problems:
- SSKR seems to be the best option; It's reversible, open, documented, a notable improvement on SLIP-39, and has other wallets moving towards adoption (Ledger app by aid00, AirGap wallet, and blockchain commons tools). But in its current state, it is not widely adopted yet, and the project seems to still be highly dependent upon a small number of developers pushing it. Also, they made the mistake (IMO) of trying to leverage their own wordslist which has far less words (bits) stored per letter. They don't view this as a big deal, but it is a very big deal when trying to put the words onto a blockplate so that a non-technical person can recover the words 15 years from today, as it can't fit on a standard 24-word blockplate and every complication added to the instructions (additional words or blockplates) increases the chances of mistakes or failures.
- SLIP-39 has the widest adoption via Trezor and one other wallet, but the shortcomings improved upon by SSKR make it likely that it may not become the standardized approach 10 years from now. It also limits us to only coins Trezor supports (which granted is most of them), and unless wider adoption happens, family will be dependent upon either Trezor's success or other potentially risky (to them) software to recover the coins. SLIP-39 can't be reconstructed into a BIP-39 standard seed to be used on wide software choices in the future, it isn't so easy to workaround a lack of support.
- Coldcard offers an xor'd fragmentation option, but it is N of N instead of M of N, adding risk to the system per #12, isn't widely adopted, and coldcard only supports BTC.
- Keys can be manually fragmented into some variations of M of N systems, but it requires giving each fragment far more of the key than they should have, which then becomes a major brute-force risk for a capable attacker who gets access to some but not enough fragments. Fortunately because this approach requires so software, only good instructions and/or some intuition, it solves #5.
In my setup, I want a 3 of 4 fragmentation system as I've identified 4 good places for securing fragments. Fortunately there is a solution that can help us with the manual fragmentation option - The passphrase! Breaking 24 words up into a 3-of-4 system manually means if someone gets 2 keys, they have 83.3 percent of the whole key. For a 24-word seed, that's 4 words, about 1e13 (ten trillion) and could be bruteforced by future technology or AWS cloud resources, especially if they knew an address to search for. But if we add say a 48-character (lowercase, for blockplate convenience) passphrase, also similarly fragmented, now we're back to 1e26, over a trillion-trillion, which should be well out of reach for the next 20 years of computing advances.
And thus, I had it solved! I had good fragment storage solutions & a good plan for instructions which I will cover below. Ledger stores the passphrase on-device so I didn't need to expose it after the setup, and I believed Ledger's seed/private keys could not be extracted. Until recently, so much for that. Note, I don't distrust Ledger, but having their weakness violates #12 and #13 and is thus unacceptable.
So I spent the last month researching and racking my brain, trying to solve the problem again. I went over SSKR and SLIP-49 again and again, and still have the same conclusion - In 3 to 5 years one of these might have sufficient adoption to present no problems for a non-technical, grieving family trying to access my complex security layers, but I cannot guess which one and I am not comfortable selecting a standard no one may remember in 15 years, or one liable to be abandoned if their main developer gets hit by a bus. But I also can't have my security dependent upon a long, complex passphrase that was supposed to be an extension of the seed in my security setup. (Restricting where and how the passphrase is used limits exposure the same way it does for seed phrases).
I briefly considered using multiple seeds to minimize risk, but it would become much more complicated for someone recovering the system 10 years from now.
I finally found a satisfactory solution. Coldcard offers a way to resolve this conflict via BIP-85. Coldcard's physical security is on a level approaching or beating Ledger's, and Coldcard offers an option to store the passphrase encrypted (THANK YOU, THANK YOU!). Coldcard also supports utilizing the passphrase (25th word) in part of the BIP-85 root (Again, THANK YOU COLDCARD!). This gets me two layers of protection in the future, and because coldcards can be used completely offline with only a one-way firmware update (protect against supply-chain attacks), AND supports verifiable dice-rolling, I can use coldcard as the root of my security. But coldcard violates #1, altcoin support.
Enter BIP-85. For those who don't know, BIP-85 is a standardized method of using a single set of BIP-39 seed-words to generate other sets of seed-words that can't be reversed back to the original. Using coldcard from a single seed, I can generate seperate seedphrases that follow BIP-39 standards; Those seperate seedphrases can be entered, with normal passphrases, onto devices whose exposure is limited to only their specific coins; Without requiring the seperate storage, fragmentation & recovery of those seeds at all. Better yet, since Coldcard is a standalone device not actually needing to sign anything directly, I can tailor instructions to family to it, and store coldcards with them so they can use them. Then, for daily use, seed phrases & passphrases can be created from the coldcard root seed via BIP-85, entered onto other devices that support all the altcoins needed, and used outside secure vaults.
Voila! So here's how the security system works:
- Seedphrase is kept completely offline from beginning to end; Root-key Coldcards never need to go online or even sign anything. Derived BIP-85 seedphrases exist only on the devices using them (split up by need/coin).
- Root-key seedwords are manually fragmented into a 3-of-4 system, along with a 48-character passphrase that is also fragmented in the same 3-of-4 system.
- Altcoins that may require Ledger firmware updates over time will be isolated, without requiring additional seedphrase storage/fragmentation.
- BTC can be stored with a different coldcard using only a BIP-85 derived seed.
- Other top coins can be stored on Trezor(s) with a memorable passphrases.
And here's how it protects against each of the above threats:
- Some key fragments have copies that are stored in similarly-secured locations. Acquiring two of the same copy accomplishes nothing, and the similar security risk profiles minimize the added vulnerability of having clones.
- Key fragments are stored in a mix of home safes, secret / hard to access locations, safety deposit boxes, and private vault services. They are geographically distributed, providing resilience against even the worst flooding or natural disasters, and the copies + 3-of-4 redundancy makes the key extremely resilient against disasters of all sorts.
- With most key fragments, an already-configured coldcard is stored with the root key, secured by a pin known only to me. This provides protection if even a single key fragment survives / is accessible to me. This also provides protection against government seizure of SDB's & other locations, and potentially quickly.
- Key fragments are on both paper and corrosion-resistant steel plates. Both are (independently) vacuum sealed with silicon packs to remove moisture and prevent corrosion, and inside a silicon fire-resistant bag (If SDB's had to be drilled because family couldn't find/access keys, the sparks couldn't reach the plastic).
- Secret locations are buried and/or inside water-resistant & fire-resistant strong boxes, and pinned in place to prevent easy removal if discovered. They are difficult to access by design.
- The complete and total loss of my home and everything in it would not expose the keys. Complete coordination of all external vaults/SDB's is also insufficient.
- Instructions on recovering the coins are stored in safes with a will copy, and also in multiple lawyer's safe's. The instructions list the locations of all fragments, but since most of them are difficult or impossible for an attacker to access, these instructions have a minimal risk.
- Passphrases for each individual BIP-85 derived key's coin are memorable so that I can actually remember & use them, can be stored in password vaults services, and can be included in the instructions to family. Because each device has a pin known only to me, knowing the passphrase & having physical access is insufficient against all but the most dedicated attackers. Devices with a secure chip are even more difficult. If I forget my pin, I can follow the same recovery steps my family would follow.
- This fragmenting approach relies on only one standard which isn't yet widely adopted, which is BIP-85. BIP-85 is not controversial and simple, and better yet, the coldcards stored with fragments should be functioning for at least 10 years in dry storage.
- This approach relies on regular court processes regarding death certificates & safety deposit boxes, which are thorough and time-tested.
- This fragmenting approach provides ample entropy security (1e23) even in the unlikely event two different fragments are combined.
- Per above, I deliberately don't provide any addresses or use any of the first few addresses generated, which means a bruteforce search must query a datastore for every potential seed being tried, massively slowing them down.
- As an added precaution, I only access coins from a dedicated laptop, minimizing malware risks. I also utilize my own nodes as well for privacy on ETH & BTC.
Voila. Sorry about the length. Are there threat vectors or risk factors I didn't think of?
TL:DR; Fragment (dice-generated) seedphrase into a 3-of-4 system (NOT SSS, manually done). Add a 48-character passphrase (3-of-4 fragmented) to protect against bruteforcing a partial exposure. Store on blockplates. Use a coldcard w/ bip-85 to generate derived seedphrases to be used with (OTHER) daily use devices that have normal passphrases. Protects against nearly every failure/fault/attack I can think of, yet still recoverable by family or in the case of a traumatic brain injury / memory loss.
