Help with this!!
Hi all!
I’m a bit nervous to post my face on here, but I feel like I’m at a road block. I’ve struggled with pretty bad cystic acne for about 7 years now and these pictures are current. My skin is MUCH better now than it has been in the past. I still have active acne, but I’ve noticed these stubborn scars and I don’t know what to do to get rid of them (maybe PIE?) I’ve tried gentle routines and more rough routines and discovered that my skin seems to be pretty sensitive. I’ve tried everything: topicals, prescription grade retinoids, doxycycline, nano infusion facials - but nothing has helped with this specifically. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
My current routine: (I try to skin cycle my nights)
Every morning: Cerave hydrating cleanser and Derma-E vitamin C sun screen/ moisturizer
Night 1+2: Cerave hydrating cleanser & neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer
Night 3: Cerave hydrating cleanser, glow recipe strawberry aha+bha exfoliator, neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer
Night 4: Cerave hydrating cleanser, prescription 0.025% tretinoin, neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer
Thanks!

2023.06.09 16:38 idealindreamers Critique my routine and tell me your favorite Hydrating Nighttime Cream & Cleansers, please?

Hi all! I’m new to taking care of my skin with a full routine (just for the past year or so) so I’m looking for feedback on my routine and specifically am in the market for a new hydrating nighttime cream and new cleanser. I’m over 40, with sensitive skin that leans dry. I don’t get acne but I have a couple sun spots and occasional flare ups of eczema. Looking for overall hydration and to lighten or eliminate sun spots. Open to additional products that are not in my routine already. You all are so helpful to others - I’m hoping you can help me too!
Current routine: Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser. This is fine, but too drying for me. Looking for a new one and eyeing La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser. Any thoughts about it?
Serum: (new to me this week and loving it) Naturium Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5%
Eye Cream: ROC Retinol Correction Line Smoothing Eye Cream. This is fine but I’m open to something more hydrating.
Cream: ROC Retinol Correction Line Smoothing Max Hydration Cream for day. ROC Retinol Deep Wrinkle for nighttime. I don’t particularly feel attached to either of these but I really don’t love the nighttime cream.
Sunscreen: Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen 40SPF. I love this.
Price isn’t a huge issue for me i’m willing to splurge on one or two products if they’re really worth it – I just don’t know what I’m doing.
That’s it, that’s the post. Thanks for reading!

2023.06.09 11:17 Ravlinn Washing my face hurts all of a sudden?

So I'm not sure what to do here. I've been on tretinoin for a month for anti-aging, 0.025% cream, every other day, and the last week or so whenever I wash my face it starts to burn. Afterwards I'm left with a pretty red face. I havent had signs of dryness thus far, or any negative effects aside from this. My oil cleanser is fine, but all the gel cleansers I have cause this irritation. I've tried the cerave hydrating cleanser, la roche posay lipikar wash, and grown alchemist gentle facial cleanser. Perhaps I could just oil cleanse since the kose oil cleanser doesn't leave a film? Or someone could reccomend an even gentler cleanser?
My routine:
AM: splash face with warm water, missah time revolution essence, beauty of joseon relief sun sunscreen
PM (tretinoin days): Kose cleansing oil, one of the 3 gel cleansers listed above, missah time revolution essence, embryolisse lait creme, tretinoin, embryolisse lait creme, eminence wildflower ultralight oil.
PM (no tret): Kose cleansing oil, gel cleanser, missah time revolution essence, the ordinary buffet + copper peptides (except under the eyes), the ordinary caffeine solution (under the eyes), embryolisse lait creme, eminence wildflower ultralight oil.

Skincare for Men: A Comprehensive Guide to a Healthy, Radiant Complexion
https://preview.redd.it/1h0gshydjx4b1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1b75398517592b814e3bc874c5a73a8e524a221
Gone are the days when skincare was considered a women-only affair. Today, more and more men are realizing the importance of maintaining a healthy skincare routine. A well-groomed appearance not only boosts confidence but also promotes overall well-being.
This week, iMusthav’s editor would like to explore the skincare for men, providing useful tips and tricks that are easy to incorporate into daily life. So, let’s dive in and learn how to achieve that radiant, healthy complexion that’s worth sharing with friends.
1. Understand Your Skin Type: The first step in creating an effective skincare routine is understanding your skin type. There are four main skin types: normal, oily, dry, and combination. Knowing your skin type will help you choose the right products and treatments to maintain a healthy, balanced complexion.
2. Cleanse Daily: Cleansing is the foundation of any skincare routine. It helps remove dirt, oil, and impurities that can clog pores and cause breakouts. Men should cleanse their face twice a day – once in the morning and once at night – using a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser suitable for their skin type.
3. Exfoliate Regularly: Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and promote cell turnover for a smoother, brighter complexion. Men should exfoliate their skin 1-2 times a week using a gentle scrub or an exfoliating brush. Be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can cause irritation and damage the skin’s natural barrier.
4. Moisturize and Hydrate: Moisturizing is essential for maintaining the skin’s natural barrier and preventing dehydration. Men should apply a lightweight, non-greasy moisturizer suitable for their skin type after cleansing and exfoliating. Look for products containing hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or ceramides, which help lock in moisture and keep the skin hydrated.

5. Protect Your Skin from the Sun: Sun damage is one of the leading causes of premature aging and skin cancer. Men should apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every day, even on cloudy days. Look for sunscreens that are specifically formulated for the face and are non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t clog pores.
6. Address Specific Skin Concerns: If you’re dealing with specific skin issues like acne, dark spots, or fine lines, consider incorporating targeted treatments into your routine. For acne-prone skin, look for products containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. For dark spots and uneven skin tone, consider using a vitamin C serum. To address fine lines and wrinkles, incorporate a retinol product into your nighttime routine.
7. Don’t Forget About Your Beard: If you have facial hair, it’s essential to keep it clean and well-groomed. Use a gentle beard shampoo and conditioner to cleanse and soften your beard. Regularly trim and shape your facial hair to maintain a polished appearance. Apply a beard oil or balm to keep your beard moisturized and prevent itchiness.
8. Get Enough Sleep and Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Skincare isn’t just about the products you apply to your face. A healthy lifestyle, including getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, and eating a balanced diet, plays a significant role in maintaining a radiant complexion. Exercise regularly to promote blood circulation and reduce stress, which can contribute to skin issues like acne and premature aging.
Conclusion: Skincare for men doesn’t have to be complicated. By understanding your skin type and incorporating a few essential steps into your daily routine, you can achieve a healthy, radiant complexion that’s worth sharing with friends. Remember, consistency is key – stick to your routine, and you’ll see noticeable improvements in your skin’s appearance and texture.
By the way, do not forget to buy iMusthav products for your girlfriend or wife to handle all their hair removal needs.
If you like our beauty tips, why do not you share them with your friends now? Welcome to share this post on your Facebook or retweet it on your Twitter account.

2023.06.08 22:52 reasonablecatlady I can't stop thinking about this book, and not in a good way. So here's a review/rant. "The Lies We Tell" by Kathy Lockheart. Marked with a content warning because of some of the content within the book.

Ok, so a lot of times, Facebook will show me blurbs of romance books, and I'll read them. And the blurb on this one was a bit enticing. It was the FMC in the hospital with one of the MMCs, who was sitting at her bedside and asked in that protective voice "what did he do to you?" and I was like ya ok I'll give this a try. I'm also not going to put in any spoilers because this whole post would be a spoiler block.
Trigger warning (seriously): this book contains scenes of abuse, both physical and emotional, the death of a small child, depicts violence, and not great home life of children (the MMCs).
Trigger warning (not serious): The most annoying FMC I've ever read.
Ok. I have several issues with this book. The biggest being the FMC. She's ridiculously stupid. I know that the author probably wrote the FMC a certain way at times because she's depicting a woman in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship. Since I don't have any experience with that, I imagine that some of the choices the FMC makes and some of the rational she uses might be common with people in abusive relationships. But, that's not my issue with her. My issue with her is she's fucking dumb as a box of rocks.
This book is page after page after page ad nauseum of this idiots internal monolog about her abusive MMC and the other MMC. Like, this book could have been half as long if the author edited herself and took most of that bullshit out. Her wafflings on staying or leaving the abusive ex aside, there's too FUCKING MUCH internal monolog. I literally skipped pages and didn't read them because I honestly didn't care what she thought anymore.
The rest I'm going to start listing.
I'm sorry. This is long. I honestly could not stop thinking about this book, and I don't really talk to anyone about the books I read, and like. I couldnt stand it. I had to tell someone.
For my actual review, 1/10, don't recommend.

  • What is the best natural hair dye?
Determining the "best" natural hair dye can depend on various factors, such as your desired hair color, hair type, and personal preferences. It's essential to note that natural hair dyes generally offer more subtle and temporary color changes compared to conventional dyes. Here are some popular options for natural hair dyes:
  1. Henna: Henna is a plant-based dye that has been used for centuries to color hair. It provides red to auburn shades and can also offer conditioning benefits. However, it's important to use pure henna without additives to avoid potential allergic reactions.
  2. Indigo: Indigo is another natural dye derived from plants, specifically the indigofera tinctoria plant. It can be used in combination with henna to achieve darker shades, including black or dark brown. Indigo is often used in conjunction with henna to create a two-step dyeing process.
  3. Vegetable-Based Dyes: Some companies offer natural hair dyes that utilize vegetable-based ingredients like beetroot, carrot, or other plant extracts. These dyes typically provide subtle color variations and can be a good option for those looking for a temporary change or to enhance their natural hair color.
  4. Logwood: Logwood is a natural dye derived from the heartwood of the logwood tree. It produces dark purplish-blue to black shades and is often used in combination with henna or indigo for desired colors.
It's crucial to keep in mind that natural hair dyes may not provide the same level of color intensity or longevity as chemical-based dyes. Additionally, individual results can vary depending on factors such as hair porosity, starting color, and application technique. It's recommended to perform a patch test and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer when using any hair dye, natural or otherwise. If you are looking for a specific hair color or have specific hair concerns, it's advisable to consult with a professional hair colorist or stylist to find the best natural hair dye option for you.
  • Which is the No 1 hair colour in world?
It's challenging to determine the "No 1 hair color" in the world as hair color preferences vary greatly among individuals and can change over time. Hair color trends and preferences can be influenced by cultural, regional, and personal factors. What may be popular in one country or region may not be the same in another.
That being said, some of the most commonly used and popular hair colors globally include:
  1. Natural Shades: Natural hair colors like black, brown, and blonde are widely popular and often considered classic choices. These colors can be customized to different tones and shades to suit individual preferences.
  2. Brunette: Brunette hair colors, ranging from light to dark brown, are popular among many individuals worldwide. It is a versatile color that can be adjusted to complement various skin tones.
  3. Blonde: Blonde hair color has always been sought after, and different shades of blonde, such as platinum, golden, and honey, have their own appeal. Blonde hair is particularly popular in countries with a large Caucasian population.
  4. Red: Red hair color, whether it's a vibrant fiery red or a more subdued auburn shade, is another popular choice for individuals seeking a distinctive and eye-catching look.
It's important to note that hair color preferences can change over time and are highly subjective. What may be considered the most popular or "No 1" hair color can vary based on different factors such as current trends, cultural influences, and individual preferences. Ultimately, the best hair color is the one that makes you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin.
  • Which is the No 1 hair dye in India?
The "No 1" hair dye in India can vary depending on factors such as market demand, consumer preferences, and brand reputation.
Some of the well-known hair dye brands in India include:
  1. Godrej Expert Rich Crème: Godrej Expert Rich Crème is a popular hair dye brand known for its affordable pricing and a range of color options. It offers a variety of shades, including natural black, dark brown, burgundy, and more.
  2. L'Oreal Paris Excellence Crème: L'Oreal Paris Excellence Crème is a widely recognized hair dye brand that offers a range of vibrant and long-lasting colors. It is known for its advanced formula that provides coverage for gray hair and offers various shade options.
  3. Garnier Color Naturals: Garnier Color Naturals is a popular brand in India that offers a wide range of hair dye shades. It is known for its natural-looking colors and nourishing properties with ingredients like olive oil and avocado oil.
  4. Streax: Streax is a reputed Indian hair care brand that offers a range of hair color products, including permanent hair dyes and hair colorants. It is known for its vibrant color range and affordable pricing.
  5. Indica: Indica is a well-established hair care brand in India, known for its herbal-based hair dye products. They offer a variety of shades and focus on providing natural and nourishing options.
It's important to note that individual experiences and preferences can vary, and what may be considered the "No 1" hair dye brand can depend on personal factors. It's recommended to consider factors such as hair type, desired color, product ingredients, and consultation with a professional hairstylist before choosing a hair dye brand.
  • What is 7.0 hair dye?
A hair dye with the shade 7.0 typically refers to a medium blonde hair color. The numbering system used in hair dye shades is known as the International Hair Color Level System, which helps categorize different hair colors based on their lightness or darkness.
In this system, the number before the decimal point represents the level of darkness, ranging from 1 (darkest black) to 10 (palest blonde). The number after the decimal point indicates the tone or undertone of the hair color. In the case of 7.0, it represents a medium level of darkness with a neutral tone.
Therefore, a 7.0 hair dye would give you a medium blonde shade without any specific warm or cool undertones. It's important to keep in mind that the exact result can vary based on factors such as your starting hair color, hair type, and the specific brand or formulation of the hair dye used. If you're considering dyeing your hair with a specific shade, it's always advisable to consult with a professional hairstylist for guidance and to achieve the desired results.
  • Which brand hair colour is safe?
There are several hair dye brands that prioritize safety and strive to offer products with minimal chemical ingredients. While no hair dye can be completely free from chemicals, some brands take steps to minimize the use of harsh chemicals and use ingredients that are considered safer for use. 2023.06.07 11:20 StrikingCourage3768 Everything you need to know about chemical peels

What are chemical peels?

A chemical peel is a procedure in which a mild chemical solution is applied to the topmost layer of the skin. It visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Specific concentrations of carefully formulated chemical peels are used based on your skin type. These peels are generally plant-based extracts that exfoliate the dead skin layer of the skin; it removes dirt and clear clogged pores, dead skin, and excess oil from the pores. Once this layer of the skin is removed the skin that is regenerated is smoother, brighter, and less wrinkled than the old skin. This procedure also effectively clears mild to moderate acne.

Why do you need chemical peels?

Chemical peels are used to treat certain skin conditions but in general, they can be used to improve the appearance, texture, and tone of the skin.

The process of chemical peel treatment

The first step in the chemical peel treatment is to clean the face with a cleanser after which petroleum jelly is applied to the most sensitive areas of the skin to protect and prevent any irritation in these areas. After this, a peel (depending on your skin concern) is applied. Depending on the peel you might experience irritation. After this, a neutralizing solution is applied to remove the peel. The post-treatment care includes applying sunscreen to protect your skin from any kind of sun damage.
Recovery time after applying the chemical peel will vary depending on the type and strength of the peel that has been used. Immediately after the skin may feel tight and it may turn red. The use of gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreen is very important. Sun exposure should be avoided when the skin is peeling. The chemical peel treatment stings depending on the type of chemical peel that has been used. Light peels usually involve lactic acid and fruit acids and they cause some redness, irritation, stinging, and crusting of the skin; all of this will eventually give way to clean, smooth and glowing skin.
Before getting a chemical peel please consult an expert to treat any skin conditions. It is important to educate yourself before going for any kind of treatment. The results of a superficial chemical peel can last up to a year if maintained with good skincare products and sunscreen whereas the results of deep peels can last for a few years!

Why is my skin texture so rough?
I don't struggle much with acne, but the texture of my skin hasn't improved since I started a consistent skincare routine.
I rinse and moisturize in the morning with Vanicream moisturizing lotion for sensitive skin, and at night I cleanse with Vanicream gentle facial cleanser, then follow up with the same moisturizer. Cleansing twice a day dries my skin out so I only do it once.
Could it be dehydration? Eczema? Just need new products? Any input is appreciated.

Over a year on tretinoin
I couldn't figure out how to add pictures to a reply, so I'm posting for my first time.
First pic is Nov 2021, last pic is May 2023. I started tret and all actives Feb 2022. I wanted to share that I had very bad acne. I'm in my 40's and always did, but it really got bad a few years ago. I was only using over the counter approaches. I finally went to a derm again and my derm said I needed several things to combat the various root causes. It seemed like overkill, but it ended up working for me. My skin is so much better with less breakouts now. I also have hormonal acne. I love tret, but alone it may not have solved my problem. You may need additional actives so don't be afraid to see of there's more you can try to get a personalized approach.
This has been my routine for about a year:
AM: SulfaCleanse face wash (rx) or La Roche Posay Gentle Moisturizing Cleanser, Benzaclin (rx), Azelaic Acid(rx), Cerave PM Moisturizer or La Roche Posay Double Repair Moisturizer Matte, Mineral Sunscreen
PM: SulfaCleanse face wash, Winlevi (rx for hormonal acne), tretinoin .05% cream, Cerave PM Moisturizer or La Roche Posay Double Repair Moisturizer
I also took Antibiotics for about 2 months when I first started and it cleared up a lot. I currently do monthly facials (my friend is an esthetician) and we are working on plans to help further reduce my hyperpigmentation. I only do light therapy right now, but will do peels and such once the summer is over.
Don't give up! It took a year for me to see dramatic changes where breakouts were less often, 1 or 2 bumps when they do, and they clear up pretty fast.

2023.06.06 23:05 kindbat [routine help] dry sensitive skin moving to a very dry climate: what can I add?

My AM routine:
-Oat so simple Krave water based moisturizer
-Radiant primer + serum with peptides by neutrogena
-2% bakuchiol in squalane by BYBI
-Zinc + squalane SPF 30 mineral sunscreen by biossance
My PM routine:
-Vanicream gentle facial cleanser
-Oat so simple Krave moisturizer
-2% bakuchiol in squalane by BYBI
I was thinking about buying pure lanolin and slugging with it each night over the bakuchiol— any thoughts/opinions on this plan? I am moving to a high desert climate that’s incredibly dry. When I’ve visited before, my skin has gotten flaky and red from dryness around my nose and mouth. I’m trying to prevent this from happening and keep my skin happy and healthy.
I use no BHA/AHA/retinoid type actives because my skin is incredibly sensitive and my moisture barrier can’t handle it. I only get the occasional closed comedone or blackhead anyway—I don’t currently struggle with acne.
I can’t use niacinamide as it causes dryness or any products with silicones (dimethicone, siloxane) because that causes cystic acne for me. I’ve also found that any products with arginine cause irritation and acne. Even vitamin c causes irritation. Hyaluronic acid tends to deeply dry out my skin as well, even when applied on damp skin with an occlusive layered over. Fragrance irritates my skin too.
So, I’m searching for a really thick night cream and perhaps a serum to replace the neutrogena. I’d also love sunscreen recs, as biossance just discontinued the one I use. Physical barriers only preferred, tinted is optimal.
Thank you all! (Edited for spelling, list formatting + readability)

11 steps to a healthy lifestyle

https://preview.redd.it/mfcuejwggf4b1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b49d85acb1ebcfa51c3cf09df2b94de92fd47b1c
Many people are interested in how to preserve beauty and personal effectiveness for many years to come. By making a few changes to your lifestyle, you can increase your energy supply and overall quality of life.
Energy, strength, and resources, it is necessary to replenish, and restore, so that in the evening not to deflate like a balloon. But on the contrary, when you come home, you will nourish your environment with warmth and communication.
11 steps to a healthy lifestyle
1. Drink 1 glass of warm water with lemon on an empty stomach-boiled water and one cup of lemon. This gives an enrichment of the diet with vitamins and trace elements, cleansing the liver, and blood intestines, and benefits the heart due to the content of potassium and magnesium in lemon. 2. Add fiber or bran to the diet. They are sold in supermarkets in the sections of diabetic nutrition. You can not add them to food, but simply eat 2 teaspoons or tablespoons during the day, washed down with water.
It is important to monitor the drinking regime: if there are no difficulties with defecation, then everything is fine. If you have problems with this while taking fiber, you need to increase your water intake. Usually, the diet does not contain the necessary amount of coarse fiber, and the introduction of fiber or bran gives a better intestinal cleansing. 3. To introduce flax seed into the diet, it is also sold in most pharmacies and is often found in supermarkets in the sections of diabetic nutrition. It can be simply chewed 1-2 teaspoons during the day.
Flax has the same property as fiber, that is, it helps to cleanse the intestines due to coarse fibers. In addition, it has an antiparasitic property and enriches the diet with selenium and potassium, polyunsaturated omega–3,6,9 fatty acids, lecithin, and vitamin B.
4. Introduce perga into the diet – this is bee pollen processed with bee enzymes, "bee bread", a fully digestible multivitamin product of natural origin. It is good to eat it in the morning, 1 teaspoon in 20-30 minutes after a glass of lemon water, or during the day, in between meals. It is sold on the market at beekeepers' or in health food stores, as well as in bee products stores. It is a prebiotic (fermentation product), restores the energy balance, contains vitamins E, C, D, K, P, B1, B2; 20 amino acids (glutamic, aspartic, alanine, glycine, tyrosine, lysine, and others); organic and fatty acids; minerals: iron, iodine, cobalt, potassium, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, manganese, copper, chromium; glucose and fructose; carotenoids; hormone-like substances; enzymes.
5. Introduce green smoothies into the diet — this will take 10-15 minutes of time, a blender. As well as a bunch of greens, water or milk, fruit or dried fruit for the sweetness of the cocktail: the sweetness of the fruit balances the astringency of the greens. Greens are rich in chlorophyll, which is identical in composition to blood, and the blood is saturated with oxygen and magnesium, which is necessary for energy production. 6. Introduce herbal tea into the diet, just drink it instead of regular tea. It is a storehouse of valuable vitamins and micro-and macroelements: vitamins PP, A, C, and B, tannins, saccharides, pectin, chlorophyll, flavonoids, manganese, calcium, iron, potassium, copper, phosphorus, magnesium, coumarins, tannins, triterpenoids. It's also delicious.
7. Balance your diet roughly as follows-50% of your usual food, 50% of vegetables and fruits. Fruits and vegetables contain selenium and folic acid, which promote the production of endorphins, thereby lifting the mood. They contain a lot of water, at the same time quench not only hunger, but also thirst, and are quickly absorbed.
Vitamins and micro-and macronutrients are contained in the most digestible form for the human body. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber, which helps to cleanse the intestines. It also helps to regulate the level of cholesterol in the blood, due to the pectin contained in them. They promote cell renewal due to the antioxidants contained in them, helping to become younger and fresher. They do not need to be cooked, which is very convenient.
8. Visit the sauna once a week. You can add 1-2 drops of essential oil. If you can not visit the sauna, then lie in the bath with sea salt or rub it in the shower. A sauna is a great exercise machine and skin cleanser. It also reduces the level of lactic acid in the body – the main factor of fatigue. And it calms the body and helps it cope with diseases and stress. In addition, the oxygen consumption increases and the heart trains perfectly. Sea salt is a very good scrub, effective in the treatment of many skin diseases, stimulates sweating, accelerates the removal of toxins from the body, and stimulates blood circulation in the upper part of the dermis.
9. Physical activity – walking, walking, running or dancing, cycling, women's gymnastics, yoga, or qigong. In order for the body to remain alive and mobile, it needs to be constantly trained. Constantly! Therefore, it makes sense to find something to do. 10. Body masters – classical massage or author's massage, manual therapy. It is important that this person is charged with health and helping people.
11. Sleep as an indicator of status and performance concerns.
Do you know the feeling of foggy thoughts and a tin head after 4-5 hours of sleep? More than once I noticed the relationship between performance and an increase in the number of hours of sleep. Yes, sleep eats up our time, but sleep leads to a higher level of productivity, gives clarity of thought, and better well-being.
If you have questions about your health and energy level, you can just try to start doing these steps within a month. Tracking the result is important! Awareness of what is happening gives an incentive to continue. And if the body responds well, then it is important not to give up, to continue to do it on an ongoing basis and gradually connect new steps.

2023.06.06 15:45 Small_Ostrich6445 [Routine Help] Analyze my skincare routine!

I recently decided to up my skin care routine after many years of subpar skin. For the last decade [27f] my skin has been low maintenance but not really "nice". Not dry nor oily, not acne prone but dull and large pores that clog easily. I don't really have blackheads, but absolutely have issues with sebaceous/dirt filled pores around my nose and cheeks.
It's been one full month of about 95% consistency [morning routine always gets done, some Saturday nights I have missed the night routine] and I haven't seen any changes really at all. Please read my breakdown and let me know if I'm missing anything, if I need more time, professional services, or if I'm just doomed to have cloggy looking pores forever lol.
Morning:
> Burts Bees oil cleanser
> La Rosche Posay gentle non-foaming cream cleanser
> BHA/AHA exfoliation toner by Peachy - NOTE: pores look better after this but only temporary
> Glycolic undereye cream by Mario Bedasceau
> Niacinamide from the Ordinary
> Beija Flor Elasti-cream by Sol De Janerio
> Cetaphil sheer sunscreen
Night:
> The same except instead of sunscreen, I do a nighttime cream with retinol by Paulas Choice and a vitamin C under eye cream instead of glycolic.
> Occasionally use a velvet skin elixir 'drink' but I'm not sure the brand, it's a sample size
> Once weekly I use the red chemical peel from the Ordinary.
Everyone says not to extract the oil/filaments, but I don't know how else they would clear up. They're very visible, and while I have no major expectations because I know skincare isn't magic, but they just look so shitty for the amount of effort I've been putting in. As far as technique, I follow the instructions to a T on all of the products. I don't touch my face very much throughout the day and wash my hands frequently anyway!

2023.06.06 11:08 Otherwise-Major5583 Skincare is an art, a process of nurturing and beautifying the skin.

Skincare is an art, a process of nurturing and beautifying the skin.
It is not only an external manifestation of beauty but also an expression of inner health. Understanding the needs of our skin and taking corresponding care measures can help us achieve a youthful, smooth, and radiant complexion.
Firstly, maintaining skin cleanliness is the foundation of skincare. Cleanse your face daily using gentle facial products to remove impurities and excess oil, allowing the skin to breathe freely and shed dullness. Additionally, using facial cleansers suitable for your skin type can prevent excessive dryness or greasiness.
Secondly, hydration is key to keeping the skin moisturized. Choose moisturizing products such as moisturizers, serums, or masks that are suitable for your skin type. These products can replenish moisture, lock it in, and enhance the skin's elasticity and radiance. Moreover, ensuring an adequate intake of water is also an important factor in maintaining skin hydration.
In addition to cleansing and moisturizing, sun protection should also be considered in skincare routines. UV radiation is one of the main factors causing skin aging and the formation of dark spots. Applying sunscreen daily or using day creams with sun protection factor (SPF) can effectively shield the skin from the harmful effects of UV rays and protect it from sun damage.
Furthermore, diet and lifestyle play a crucial role in skin health. Consuming foods rich in vitamins C and E, zinc, and antioxidants, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, and fish, can promote skin repair and renewal. Maintaining good sleep quality, reducing stress, and avoiding habits like smoking and excessive alcohol consumption also contribute to overall skin health and beauty.
Lastly, skincare is not merely about pursuing external beauty; it is an act of self-care and love. By understanding the needs of our skin and adopting appropriate skincare methods, we can have a complexion that is vibrant, confident, and naturally beautiful. Remember, consistent skincare habits are essential for achieving healthy and beautiful skin.

Hate Your Unwanted Hair And Want To Remove It? 3 Summer Hacks For You!
When summer comes, sleeveless short skirts are on the stage. If you want to be beautiful and outstanding, hair removal is a must for many delicate girls.
If you haven't figured out how to choose hair plucking, hair removal cream, waxing hair removal, and hair removal device, this guide is definitely not to be missed!
From the principle of hair removal to the parameters of product selection, the little fairy has written clearly.
When hair removal is required, one is the hair on the underarms, bikini area, etc., which will be super embarrassing if it is accidentally exposed.
The other is heavy hair, many hairs look black, one white covers all ugliness, and one black ruins everything.

Types of Hair Removal Methods

https://preview.redd.it/vz8hzqqrsc4b1.png?width=1036&format=png&auto=webp&s=294706977961ce6fbd516be8c02ed52ba0507b4d
There are several sorts of hair removal techniques available to suit individual tastes, financial constraints, and time frames for hair-free skin. Here are a few popular methods for hair removal.

Shaving

Shaving is the process of removing hair from the surface of the skin using a razor or electric shaver.
The results are transient, but the procedure is swift and comparatively painless, and hair regrows within a few days.

Waxing

Applying heated wax to the skin, letting it attach to the hair, and then removing the wax against the direction of hair development constitutes waxing.
This procedure eliminates hair from the roots, leaving the skin smoother for up to a few weeks.

Depilation

Depilatory creams or lotions contain chemicals that break down the protein structure of the hair, allowing it to be wiped away or rinsed off.
Depilation provides temporary hair removal, and the results can last longer than shaving, typically for several days.

Epilation

Epilation involves removing hair from the root using devices called epilators. Epilators use tweezers or rotating discs to grasp and pull out multiple hairs simultaneously.
This method can provide longer-lasting results compared to shaving or depilation, as it takes more time for the hair to regrow.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a popular method for achieving long-term or permanent hair reduction.
It involves using concentrated beams of laser light to target and damage the hair follicles, inhibiting future hair growth.
Multiple sessions are usually required for optimal results, and laser hair removal is most effective for people with light skin and dark hair.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Hair Removal

While IPL devices employ a wide spectrum of light rather than a single wavelength, they function similarly to laser hair removal equipment.
The light damages the hair follicles and inhibits hair growth by focusing on the pigment there. IPL is another technique for long-lasting or permanent hair removal.

Electrolysis

A way of permanently removing hair is electrolysis. Each hair follicle is entered with a tiny needle, and the growth cells therein are destroyed by an electric current.
Electrolysis provides lasting results for all hair and skin types, although it can be time-consuming and may require numerous treatments.

Sugaring

Similar to waxing, sugaring is a natural hair removal technique. It entails applying a gooey paste composed of sugar, lemon juice, and water to the skin and then removing it while removing the hair.
For some people, sugaring is less painful than waxing, making it a useful choice for those with sensitive skin.

The Structure and Function of Hair Follicles

Anagen, catagen, and telogen are the three distinct growth stages that the hair follicle passes through.
Hair follicles are skin cells that make hair grow. The opening of the hair follicle begins on the surface of the skin.
Each hair forms an epidermal depression in the skin called a follicle. Usually, there is hair growth within each follicle.
Hair follicles are composed of connective tissue and epithelium, in addition to the dermal papilla, they also have connective tissue and blood vessels, which are all differentiated from epidermal cells.
Generally, people cannot grow new hair follicles. All hair follicles are born with a person and stay with the person for a lifetime.
After the hair follicle dies, it cannot regenerate. The hair follicle is connected to the sebaceous duct, which can transport the secretion of the sebaceous gland to the surface of the skin for discharge.
