2023.06.07 14:56 SwoleMedic1 r/Destiny2 joins the lockout. Starting June 12th, we go dark

TLDR: Starting June 12th, the subreddit will be locked down in protest of Reddit’s API changes coming July 1st.
Long Version: Reddit has decided to drastically increase its prices to ping the API. In doing so, they will effectively kill every third party mobile app. By not locking their API, they have the “freedom” to say any developer can make a Reddit client; while at the same time forcing the official apps biggest competitions out of the market. These include Apollo, RIF, Boost, Sync, and any others you use. While not specifically stating Old Reddit will be shutdown on top of this, it is our belief that time is coming too.
We would never encourage our community to submit tickets over and over again to Reddit’s help desk. And we absolutely do not endorse contacting the Reddit Admins via modmail to voice your concerns

2023.06.06 21:55 Aceblast135 Swapping gear causing a "Contacting Destiny 2 Servers" error? It's your account, not your internet

This has been an issue for many players for over a year and potentially longer. The issue in question is managing inventory causing a "Contacting Destiny 2 Servers" banner to appear and taking several seconds to swap weapons, loadouts, shaders, claim bounties, change fragments or other subclass features, and more.
Here's a video demonstration of the issue from a fellow guardian below.
I have tested my friend's account on my same device and internet and do not experience the issue as I do on my personal account, which leads me to believe it is an issue with the account on Bungie's side.
To be clear, this is not a typical server error that boots you to orbit with an error code. The game runs as normal and does not kick you from an activity. The issue only happens when you try to interact with anything related to your inventory, seasonal challenges, etc. Things that are tied to your account.
Has Bungie addressed the issue at all? I've searched for potential solutions for countless months and not a single thing has worked. I have even moved to a completely different house with entirely different equipment. This is NOT an ISP issue and it happens on all platforms.
If you have experienced this issue, please say so here. Even if you no longer have the issue, if you remember when it started and stopped and anything you may have done to resolve the issue would be appreciated. Here is a small compilation of issues others have:

2023.06.05 20:55 SHROOMSKI333 last season, bungie introduced seemingly the first perk combo coded not to drop together (investigation)

BACKGROUND
last season, bungie reprised jorum’s claw in iron banner with a curious perk combo- gutshot straight in the 3rd column and head seeker in the 4th.
the combo has clear synergy, headseeker requires a body shot to increase aim assist and crit damage, gutshot increases body damage and lowers aim assist which should result in likely the most forgiving ttk in the game with no kill activated perks
however, i don’t think bungie has this combo available as a drop
I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING, AND HEAR ME OUT
now the obvious conclusion is just “bad rng, sorry boss” as per everything else in the game, I was there for the chaos of “im convinced rangefinder doesn’t drop” that unfolded when it was Pali (or insert meta weapon here) farming week on Lake Of Shadows, but the somewhat limited research I have seems to indicate something else
feel free to correct below should you find miscalculations or issues- for just myself, i’m closing in on my 10th iron banner reset, and i have focused every single drop for this roll of jorums. for the people at home, that’s 160 drops, and doesn’t include random post match rewards.
jorums has 6 perks in each column, for a 1/36 at the 2/5 roll. 1/36 is a 2.77 continuing % chance using a formula, we can calculate that at a 2.77% chance, after 108 drops any one person should have above a 95% chance of a gutshot headseeker roll dropping. as stated above, I have 160 rolls.
OUTSOURCING
but surely this was just my back luck right? so i took to twitter and reddit to try to find someone who has. it’s a unique perk combo, surely other people are looking for it.
on twitter, one dude had focused 7 resets worth of engrams for the roll, another who has focused 3 resets worth for it. that’s another 160 chances without it, and still over the 95% chance after 108 rolls, pushing triple over odds.
on reddit all I could find was a destiny2 post from last season of another dude asking if it’s even a possible drop. no youtubers or pulse rifle fanatics have made anything about this roll, but obviously this is more relevant last season when the gun was a hot new item that would get more views. i’ve seen all the reviews of the weapon and nobody uses this roll.
all other posts about this roll i could find was just people theorizing it was good and saying they were looking for it. no one has claimed to have had it drop, and i can say i’ve never been killed by one.
TLDR?
my only guess as to why bungie would have locked it off is if they thought it would maybe be too strong, of if the perks were bugged and headseeker was applying the gutshot increase or something weird, and this solution was easier.
have you had a gutshot headseeker jorum’s claw drop? i would really like to be wrong. please post video evidence

2023.06.03 19:10 brianlee0329 (Glitch?)Shatter damage affected by weapon pve scaling values

I tested after the rework of salvation's grips and found something weird...
If you freeze the boss by salvation's grip and shatter by automatically, it cause 4x normal shatter damage.(if shatter by ability, gun or other else, than boss take only once shatter damage. not twice.)(boss take shatter damage twice, but only one shatter damage become 4x. another one is normal)
After I tested winterbite, rocket, fusion rifle. Those three also seem unusual shatter damage(normal shatter x weapon pve scaling value).
https://www.reddit.com/destiny2/comments/13zj0mglitchshatter_damage_affected_by_weapon_pve/ (because I used a translator, some sentence can be weird...)
p.s. I remember that, before the season of deep exotic reworks, shatter damage didn't affected by weapon pve scaling values

2023.06.02 07:41 Endless_Xalanyn6 Now that we successfully got Bungie to give us the missing Lightfall Hand Canon, can we also get them to give us the OTHER missing Lightfall weapons?

For those who didn’t know, there are at least 4 to 5 weapons seen in Lightfall marketing such as posters, the cinematic trailer, and even in-game menus that depict weapons we do not currently have in the game. The most obvious one was the Hand Canon, but we and Bungie should not forget the 4/5 others who remain unaccounted for!
Here is an image album I made showing off all of them: https://www.reddit.com/destiny2/comments/13y3p04/since_we_successfully_begged_bungie_into_adding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_content=1&utm_term=15
We have not received the following guns: a Rocket Launcher, a Machine Gun, a Pulse Rifle, …possibly a sword?, and a Grenade Launcher.

2023.05.28 22:15 Nguruthos7 RoN 2nd Encounter "Fast Strat" Maps

RoN 2nd Encounter
I modified pryanie's high-quality map (original version, v1.3) of Root of Nightmare's second encounter with the quicker Fallout Plays strategy that has probably been shared here in some form or another. This strategy significantly shortens the time spent vaulting across the chasm, which can be an issue for teams using the standard strategy of each runner dedicated to only a single buff.

Dark-Side Start

Light-Side Start

A quick (runner-centric) rundown: Teams of three (2 add-clear and 1 runner) position themselves on/near the first plates and start the encounter. After the runners launch across the chasm and deposit the buffs onto their respective plates (plate #2), they will go to that side's aura-surrounded plate (plate #1) of the opposite buff; i.e., light-/right-side start runner will move to the nearby plate with the dark aura, and dark-/left-side runner will move to the nearby plate with the light aura. The runners need to communicate that they have reached their plate, e.g., calling out "on dark" or "on light," then waiting for their counterpart on the other side to do the same—this is to ensure that there is no overlap and erasure of the other runner's buff if they have not yet completed their run.
When both players have communicated that they are at their new aura plate, they are free to run the next two plates of their new sequence (plates #3 and #4). After depositing the buff onto the fourth plate, they return to their original aura which is now located nearby on their current side's third plate. Same as before, both players need to communicate and wait for the other runner before picking up the buff. When they have done so, play continues as before, with each runner finishing their original sequences (plates #5 and #6). Runners can immediately vault back to their starting side and move to the next level with their original team.
Note: By both waiting near the opposite buff and finishing on the opposite side (runners conclude each floor with their original team), the runners place themselves in an ideal position to help the other runner recover buffs should one be lost. This strategy gives ample time to recover from at least one such incident.
Again, credit to pryanie for the fantastic maps. At the time of this posting, a newer version (v1.5) of these maps has been posted and can be found here.
EDIT: Here is a draft version that doesn't instruct the runners to jump back after depositing the buff at the sixth plate. This version is ideal for mastechallenge runs, whereas the one I posted/described works well and is consistent for normal mode.

2023.05.28 16:06 LorenzoLlamaass Bungie! Please Stop Finishers From Killing Us.

I think the title says it but I'll explain. My team did the new Dungeon last night and randomly while doing Finishers it would kill whomever performed it. Two of us performed a finisher on the same target, a hive ghost and both of us died. If they are going to implement any hard content that requires the usage of Finishers they need to fix finishers. It's been like this for a while but never this severe until this season.
Bungie please fix it and while you're at it fix the randomly regenerating boss health on the first boss of the Dungeon, he regenerated part of his health twice.
Video from another user proving finishers can kill, shows hive ghost finisher killing player. https://www.reddit.com/destiny2/comments/13tzkoy/i_crushed_myself/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

2023.05.28 04:44 Crayola-Commander I'm so happy for lfg

I've always been a solo player. Found a couple of clans that got me through Leviathan, DSC and VOG; but for some reason I couldn't get into team playing.
Always tried to solo dungeons and trials, until the new dungeon dropped.
I tried to solo it but struggled with survivability, so I did the unthinkable and tried the destiny2 discord lfg.
I'm so happy I did that; not only was I able to finish GOTD on day 1 (with a great team) I also finally got Gjally and feel more comfortable going on lfg for endgame.
To any solo players struggling with social anxiety, awkwardness or that are just hesitant to do it. I encourage you to do it. It was a great experience and Destiny did get more fun now that I can get a team to play with.

2023.05.26 03:52 mjmacka LAN Multi-Player Issues

My girlfriend and I are trying to play Destiny 2 (PC on Steam). I am able to join and play fine but she is not. She is getting an error that says "Monkey" Cloud not Connect to the Destiny 2 server.
I've tried setting a static IP address on her PC. Mine (connected to the same LAN) works fine. Both installs were done today, we've checked game file integrity. Both are wired PCs. UPnP is enabled (Google Nest wifi/router).
Do you have any recommendations for troubleshooting? This seems silly that one computer works and the other does not.
EDIT: Looks like something similar is happening to other people. We might wait until tomorrow and try again: https://www.reddit.com/destiny2/comments/13r70ih/need_help/
