Hello Colleagues.
I'm not going to go on much of an explanation of what's going on - I feel most of us have seen it via other subs. It seems like the exorbitant increase in API costs, (from zero to $20 million for the Apollo app as an example,) is inspiring many subs to "go dark" on June 12th for some period of time.
I've been on reddit for 14 years, I think before the Digg exodus, but I probably shouldn't quantify how much time I've spent on the site over the years. This isn't a huge sub, (although nice to see we're over 20k propofol pushers now!) but I'm happy to go with what the community wants to do.
Please comment below with how you think we should proceed as a sub. Personally I use old.reddit and RES for the vast majority of my time on this site so the API decision affects me minimally. However, I see how those that use Apollo and other apps are going to be hugely affected by this. Keep in mind, while I'm in my 30s, I'm not the savviest with reddit, (which I'm sure you've noticed as we don't have the most sophisticated sub layout/automod/etc.) but will figure out how to do whatever you guys/gals want.

I couldn't find it directly mentioned in the rules, but I am very flustered at the moment with many life issues, but would it be okay to post a gofundme link for help my family and daughter who is in the hospital? As it relates to Warhammer, we'll she is my little painting buddy! She is only 2, but I have been getting her trained how to hold a brush. It's currently peach with one accent wall in the kitchen area light blue. My plan is to paint the whole apartment white, with the wall behind the sofa dark green (removing the map painting) and the put some very light color textured wallpaper where the blue wall is. Will that be too much, you think? If not, what kind of wallpaper pattern would you suggest?

For the longest time I have had this notion that after we die / when we are dead, our experiences stop entirely and we just no longer exist or experience anything.
 
Obviously, when I try to imagine this, I come up empty handed because “nothingness” literally cannot be imagined. There is no color or sound or sensation associated with nothing. So it wouldn’t just be this dark, empty, silent place, because “nothing” has no qualities at all.
 
I am not saying i believe in an afterlife now, but to me it makes more sense that we would be come everything rather than nothing.
 
I have even gone on to wonder if lifeless matter itself has an experience of it’s own, just an experience very dissimilar to ours. And maybe life forms are just very filtered experiences that have evolved for their own sake and purposes.
 
Obviously this is all non-scientific speculation, but it can be fun to think about without taking myself too seriously. But the other thing i was thinking about is how strange that if we die and we do become nothing, then from our point of view, time, space, and the universe no longer exists. Which is like saying we leave this reality where all that can exist does, and go to another reality where nothing exists at all, again, from our perspective. How weird is os that?
 
Final “what if” thought. What if lifeless matter only has intuition and only knows what it is supposed to do, making it predictable in a mathematical sense. Meanwhile people/life have more than intuition, we have knowledge. Like our brains store experiences and our DNA stores genetic information, but we have more awareness and more knowledge than just our intuition so we often feel like we have don’t know what we are doing / supposed to be doing, making our behavior much more difficult to predict or understand.

As moderators, we have concers about recent changes to reddit.
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.

What's the plan?

On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.

What can you do as a user?

• Complain. Message the mods of /reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on /reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
  
• Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join the coordinated mod effort at /ModCoord.
  
• Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
  
• Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

After finishing the game once, I started an NG+ only to get completely stuck with the tetris/numbers puzzles. I'm at around 118% and I've yet to finish collecting all the standard cubes.
I've yet to get the numbers, but as I was trying to look for spoiler-free hints regarding the tetris pieces, I got completely spoiled by a single image which gave me the solution right away.
I'm super pissed as I wanted so badly to get it on my own, but this led me to a question. What was the hint in the game for this??
I got the idea to use the rotations thanks to the diapason room, which allowed me to solve the paintings room with, but I just don't understand how can anyone "get" the deal with the tetris pieces.
Fez is amazing but it looks like some puzzles are just so obtuse. The game doesn't give ANYTHING it looks like, or I'm really missing some huge parts of the game.

Like the title suggests, I'm not necessarily looking for other musicals, subversive or nor, although something like Annette would probably fit the bill. What I'm primarily looking for are movies with similar plot, themes, tone, etc.

Not to mention how great the dialogue in that scene was, the musical selection was on point for that scene, per usual for the entire show. Being raised in the Harbor Area we love our oldies/ old school music and Slippin Into Darkness by War was definitely a classic for us. That one hit like crazy for me (also reminds me of American Me) I had to repeat that scene at least 3 times. I'm sure Singleton smiled on that particular episode ending.

I initially tried programs like OpenShell and StartIsBack to modify my Windows 11 to look more like Win7 or XP, and I tried different ways to approach that. None of the free programs changed my taskbar, expect something called RetroBar (and OpenShell only adding it's logo to the corner of the taskbar).
I tried WindowBlinds11 30-day trial and every theme I applied did change things like the "titlebars" of programs and the colors of file explorer and task manager, etc. I would've liked that, but WindowBlinds didn't modify my taskbar at all. I even tried it by combining OpenShell, but it still didn't allow me to change the look of the taskbar.
I ended up uninstalling OpenShell, WindowBlinds and all these UI-altering programs. I still noticed, that certain areas of Windows, like notification boxes when deleting a file from the trashbin or the background color in registry editor had changed to a brown-ish color, when it should be white by default and always has been. (I think this color had been associated with a WindowBlinds -theme I had tried earlier)
I Googled this and someone had recommended the "Purge" command to undo these changes by Stardock. I purged and rebooted, nothing happened. I reinstalled WindowBlinds, applied the default theme, then purged, rebooted and nothing happened...
So, I had a System Restore -point, that was created when first installing OpenShell a few days earlier (I believe this was before I had installed or tried WindowBlinds). So I reverted Windows back to that point and nothing else had changed, expect that the background color in these different Windows -boxes was now blue (this was similar or the same color as the "accent color" that had been chosen in 'Settings > Personalization > Colors', although the option "Show accent colors on tile bars and windows borders" had been unchecked.
As an example, I just chose an ordinary picture of regedit (from the internet), and as an reference just added the color change in Paint, like so.
It's not the correct color I'm seeing, but just an example. And also, in my reference pic, there's an upper bar that has "Name", "Type" and "Data" in the colored area, which is actually still remained white.
How should I fix this, is this even Stardocks/WindowBlinds fault, is there an easy fix for this or what?

I've decided to sell my SBR locally in it's pistol form and sadly due to constructive intent/possession I can't sell it with these items:

• VZ 61 Factory stock kit w/Plate & Screws: The screw heads are a TINY bit stripped but I had no problem getting them on and off, just press hard and pray to jesus. They're not that bad, I promise. The plate was cerakoted gun candy gold for some extra pop. There's some paint wear on the rear of stock where you actually shoulder it from where it rubbed on my suppressor while folding, but it's not terrible. I also am 99% sure the stock was cerakoted matte black to give it some extra grip, these things are SUPER slippery from the factory.

 

• VZ 61 Front Picatinny Adapter from my boy Isle MFG, with an Mlok adapter and a custom Plum wood dong that I had made from the amazing u/whipskirtayeyay

 
I'd like to sell everything as a package deal. The stock kit was $200 new, the front picatinny mount I think was $50, the adapter for the grip was $30, and the gorgeous dong itself was itself was $75.

I wanted to ask if anyone has advice or tips/if you have done this. I love a good ride through the city after dark in the summer. I've gone a few times with my riding buddy, but have yet to go alone. Every time I plan to, I chicken out at the last moment.
My city isn't really the kind of place you hear about cyclists getting attacked. It's small, the crime rate isn't too bad, most people just mind their own business. Midwest in the States, 65k for context.
That said, I've gotten really conscious of how bad an idea it is to do a lot of things that I love alone--hiking for example, and now my fear of riding at night. Maybe my fears are unfounded? Maybe I should carry pepperspray or something? (Not sure how quickly I'd be able to pull it out and use it though). Ride on streets where there's some traffic instead of trails?
Just looking for what others have personally done or if this is even a shared fear among fellow female cyclists.

Basically the title. I've been using a generic LO template for a while which suggests it should go in Game Mechanics near the top - however, I've also seen a number of LOs which have it in the NPC area towards the bottom, or even lower than that.
My concern of putting it near the bottom is how it would work with Racial Body Morphs - it needs to be above any Skeleton mods, but below Imperious and the Universal imperious Patch, and I'm not sure how it would work if placed lower down.

I just can’t with my coparent. We have been separated for around 2 months and during that time all he ever does is complain about how little he gets to see our daughter but whenever he has the opportunity to see her he shirks it off.
Yesterday my aunt reached out to me wanting to go to a few estate sales. My kitchen table is very old, I got it for free on marketplace and it is…not great lol. Now that the baby is walking it’s become a problem. Someone built it themselves, and while it looks great up top, underneath there is quite a bit of unfinished wood. Baby crawls under and tries to stand up and has scraped her head quite a few times and even got a sliver once. It was also very clearly owned by a family with kids because I recently discovered there are a bunch of stickers under there, I’ve tried to scrape them off but baby keeps finding bits of stickers and tries to eat them. Basically I need a new table badly lol, so I was excited about going out to look for one. In general I love estate sales and thrift shopping, and I haven’t really gone out or done anything since I had my baby, and she is almost a year old, so I was looking forward to having time to myself.
Yesterday morning I reached out to her dad and asked if he would come over to watch her after she goes down for her first nap and I would be home in time to put her down for her second nap (I had to do it this way because he has never once put her down for a nap and doesn’t know how, but that’s a whole other can of worms). He was very excited and agreed. Last night at 10pm I reached out to confirm the plans but he didn’t answer. No big deal, he’s probably asleep. This morning I sent three more texts, no response. Around the time he would have to leave to get here on time I called him twice, still no response. So I called my aunt and told her I was sorry but I had to cancel, something came up. He finally calls me an hour into her hour and a half nap and asks what time he should come over. What??? Are you serious?
He got SO upset when I told him I had cancelled my plans and went off about how he wasn’t going to get to see her “yet again”. I told him he was more than welcome to come see her, he could come take her to the park or watch her while I go grocery shopping or something. But no, apparently I ruined everything by cancelling my plans 🙄 he can’t possibly come see her now. I don’t think he even wanted to see her honestly, this was just an excuse for him to stay home and play video games and smoke weed all day instead. He’s saying I didn’t tell him what time to come over because I didn’t text him an exact time, but I tried to confirm the plans and never heard back, and she has been on a two nap schedule going down for her first nap at the same time everyday since JANUARY. How do you not know what time your child goes down for a nap after five months and then that’s my fault?
I just really don’t get how I cancelled my plans because he couldn’t seem to wake up until 10:30 or respond to any communication when he knew he was supposed to be watching his daughter, and HE’S the one who has been slighted and is upset. I will never understand this man I stg
