I have a therapist but I don't see in a week, so only asking here for internet advice.
I've been on low-to-no contact with my parents for almost 2 years. I ignored my dad for the last 5 months and now he has contacted me again.
Obviously, as the adult child, I want to have a relationship with my parents. However, it is still toxic. Change is too effortful of a process for them. I can imagine already if I were to drive to visit my parents, if my car breaks down I won't tell them about it because my dad would help me, but he would also blame it on me in the most petty way: "Were you not looking at the road? What is wrong with you?" etc. When I get home, they would welcome me, but then start blaming me: "what were you thinking?" Entitlement and a complete inability to see things from another perspective. My dad has told me he treats me how he was treated by his family and he isn't going to change.
So in a nutshell, that's the cost of being in contact with my parents. That's why we can only be strangers because they're not responsible for their behavior.
So to rationalize my choice of no-contact, the only thing left is if I feel I 'owe' my parents. I think my parents did their job, they gave me good qualities but also handed me all their shit. They raised me as they thought was best but any by-product of that, they don't care. I don't think I owe them anything. After I was fully independent 2 years ago, I figured out everything myself. Sure, they helped me before then, so I could survive, like giving me a roof over my head and the opportunity to get an education so I don't have to work minimum wage while doing college on the side, but at the cost of abuse and much trauma, emotional and otherwise that I am correcting for the future.

the past year I’ve been depressed, in a daze, didn’t trust my own memory, self isolated a lot. I had been doing a lot better and feeling myself again then had a huge setback the other night, sent tons of desperate emails trying to express how much it effected me how hurt I was trying to make sense of the timeline, probably said stupid stuff bc it triggers my fight or flight.
this isn’t me, this isn’t who I am or want to be. this isn’t normal behavior or something I’ve ever done before. I don’t want to beg someone to care about how they messed me up. I deleted all the sent emails, any trace of him on my phone, blocked any account I knew of. I just can’t be doing this, I’m never going to get an explanation, apology, closure, or anything that would feel emotionally validating. I’m holding myself accountable to pretending he’s dead, never trying to look him up, or contact him again. He doesn’t care about me and I’m just giving him ammo to use for telling people I’m crazy.

I am planning to do my robotics masters very soon but I'm very very confused by the number of job roles that I can take up.
What are some of the job titles one can expect to get themselves in on an entry level within the industry? Does an entry level master graduate be eligible for any program managerial roles if it exists in the field of robotics?

So my boyfriend cheated on me and it was really devastating. We have been together for over a year now but I only found out out of guilt, as I wouldn’t have known had he not told me. He said he couldn’t keep it to himself anymore bc it was haunting him. I told him I needed a short break. After the break we are working on things and it has been a few weeks now that we haven’t had sex. I’m a little frisky so I texted him yesterday asking somewhat as a tease, how often he liked to have sex. He ended up calling me and asking what I meant, and that he would do it “everyday”, - that he’s just waiting on me.
Fast forward to last night, I got out of the shower and put on one of my nicer pair of undergarments and a large tshirt over. When he got back from his day he had approached me like normal and we began to set the mood. But when it got to him inserting himself- his erection disappeared. I went back under to try to bring it back up but it took forever and it was only like halfway. We tried again and then it disappeared. I’m a very understanding person and figured he’s probably really embarrassed at that moment, so I suggested we just chill and have dinner first. That was the end of our night though because he ALWAYS falls asleep after dinner :/.
Thinking back on everything that’s happened makes me question why he cheated in the first place. I’m very fit and the woman he cheated with was someone pretty much obese (no offense) and not at all someone he’s ever described to be his type. I’m SO confused as to why he can’t get it up for me now, as this is the first time this has happened within our several years of knowing each other.
What does this mean? He’s apologized for cheating so much that it’s kind of annoying. Is he just feeling super guilty about the cheating? How do I address this situation to him as it is obviously awkward for us both and embarrassing for him?
TLDR: boyfriend cheated and slow to initiate sex and loses erection now.

I filed my taxes during the last week of February. We're supposed to allow 12 weeks processing for state returns so I didn't worry about it until the past 2 weeks when I hit 13 and 14 weeks with no change which is unusual for me. Called last week couldn't get through. Called yesterday and waited on hold for 2 hours to speak to someone.
When I made it to a representative they asked for my information and immediately put me on hold only to come back and say it's released wait 5-7 business days and you'll have your check.
I asked what the problem was to begin with and they said oh, there's no problem we just wait for people with larger returns to call in before releasing it. If someone has a return over 2,500 we usually won't release it until they call.

1. I've had a return in prior years around 3k and it was released no issue. 2. There is nothing on the their website informing people they need to do this, so what would have happened if I had not called in? Would they have eventually just sent it or not? I've never heard of this nonsense before.

What's going on?
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
What can you do?

• Complain. Message the mods of /reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on /reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
  
• Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at /ModCoord - but please don't pester mods you don't know by simply spamming their modmail.
  
• Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
  
• Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible. This includes not harassing moderators of subreddits who have chosen not to take part: no one likes a missionary, a used-car salesman, or a flame warrior.
  

Been farming for the Pulverise legendary for Druid for the past 17 levels now. Pretty much only doing tree and helltide to target farm-only weapons to get it. and I'm like 90% sure Blizzard just doesn't want people to play that build and want them to use other stuff. And are making it like a 1% chance to drop in the pool. I'm level 70 but have been in world tier 4 since level 55. and have only been farming stuff to target it. its very unfun to not be able to swap to a better weapon you have had for the past 15 levels because your build won't work without the legendary.
i wish you could spend forgotten souls to extract a legendary from an item more them 1 time but it gets more and more expensive as you do it would help fix this problem a bit

I've been writing for roughly twelves to thirteen years, and roleplaying for about seven, give or take a few months. My favorite Genres are Action/Adventure, and my favorite setting is fantasy! (Imagine D&D). My reply frequency is somewhere around once to twice a day, however I can get in a mood that lets me put out multiple in the span of a few hours, and my reply lengths can easily reach 5 full paragraphs if I'm really in the mood. I write and roleplay exclusively on discord. There's no negotiating this. I also prefer drawn/artistic faceclaims. Irl ones will immediately make me uncomfortable.

Hey, I’m going to interview for my dream company I’ve actually already interviewed for in march and I made it to the final and they really wanted me on the team but someone got it like a couple days before me as we were interviewing at the same time. Which is exactly what they told me that they really wanted me on their team but someone beat me to it who was slightly further along and signed.
I ended up basically getting letting go from my last job anyways. It was incredibly toxic, I resigned but they would’ve gotten rid of me and just took up a position at a start up so I had some income at least. Then I saw a position opened at my dream company I had interviewed for and I reached out to the recruiter and the manager who wanted me on the team immediately gave his stamp of approval and now they’re going to interview for me for it on Monday. I probably should’ve left my current job off my résumé, but it is on it and on my LinkedIn so too late for that. But they have interviewed me before and did want me to join the company and I’ve never been in a company for less than a year in my life since I graduated in 2019 except my current job.
Basically, my current job is not at all what I signed up for. The job description is not accurate. It’s supposed to be just a low level Analyst and basically they want me to build the whole department and convince the CEO to change everything rather than management do it themselves and put everything on a 27 year old with no experience in the industry. and the department I’m in is just me and the company isn’t even ready for it and I shouldn’t have been hired. The company is really disorganized and has no set processes and I have no support and some days I have no idea what to even do. I’ve even mentioned that it’s a little too management, and they don’t help. They pretty much brought me in to do the work that they don’t have time or don’t want to do and want me to build a whole department which is not what I signed up for and definitely not what I’m paid for
Even my coworkers said I was brought in way too early before they were even ready and honestly they will probably have to get rid of this department as there isn’t really a point for it right now. So what do I say when they ask? Also, there isn’t HR here and some men have made some pretty sexist comments and I’m just really not comfortable. I obviously wouldn’t mention that tho.
This clearly isn’t typical behavior for me to move to a new company very fast as I never have and since this job already interviewed me and wanted me, I feel like it’s not that big of a deal. It happens to all of us. Still wish I removed it for my résumé but too late now. This is my dream company and I really want it to work out. Would love advice!

Hey everyone, I just increased to 200 mg three days ago. It might be a placebo effect but I swear I feel better. Calmer and less edgy but also lazier. I didn't feel any benefit until this point and I've been on Zoloft for around 15 months, 12 of them being on 150 mg/day. Is it possible for some people not to notice any benefits until reaching 200 mg? Are any of you on 200+ mg and what have the benefits and side effects been like vs. lower doses? Thank you!
